Picking this up in about an hour. Probably my favorite Tele configuration, big fan of the wide range humbuckers.

That's a nice one. What's the Wide Range particular tonal flavour that you like. I mean, how is it different from a regular humbucker let's say ?

The guy wasn’t much of a photographer, this thing is gorgeous. There’s one mark on the back but other than that it’s pretty much meant. The fritz don’t even really need a polish although I probably will anyway.

Hmm. Less than impressed with the pickups in this as is, time for some new strings to see if that brings anything to life. I was hoping this aftermarket bridge with Dimarzio made pickup would fit but the string spacing is all wrong. Damn.

I've been playing my VM Tele a lot the last few days. I dig the stock pups.

YMMV but the appeal of Tele Customs is the combo of the neck 'bucker and the bridge single coil.

While a humbucker in the neck slot is a grand thing, swapping out the twang of the bridge pickup wouldn't work for me, six saddle bridge or not.

    Just my opinion, of course.
