    Hello all

I've recently got back into guitars after a long hiatus and have suddenly found myself with 3 squiers!
One of them I'm struggling to identify.
I bought it thinking it was an SE strat pack model as it has the following features:

Squier STRAT by Fender on the face of the headstock (no other logo nor serial number)
    22 frets
Maple and rose neck (really nice grain on the headstock and back of the neck).
    Solid wood body
    42mm nut
    58mm neck cavity
    Squier stamped tuners

But the thing that confused me is that it had the swimming pool routing....can anyone shed any light on this for me please? Did some SE strats come with this routing? If not an SE - what is it?

    Any help would be great,

    Cheers
    Homz

    SE, with pool cavity route.

    Looks like a nice one.

    Welcome.

Thank you Eddie and thanks for the super quick reply.

    Much appreciated!

I couldn't find anywhere online to confirm if SE strats had the pool cavities - so thanks for clearing that up for me.

Man, that's a beautiful neck! I'm digging those branded pup covers.

    Welcome to the board!

In the end, the only rule about Squiers is that there are no rules. I'm also thinking the European model SE's have slight variations from the American versions.

Pool routes are my favorites. Much easier to get HB's in the neck. :)

Thanks. It was the neck that attracted me to this one. Not seen a nicer one on an SE....yet

Haha. Yeah I'm learning quickly that no rules apply to the old squiers. Keeps things interesting though. Nothing like a bit of guitar detective work to keep you on your toes.

I heard those branded pickup covers didnt make it to the US?

Welcome @Homz ! It's amazing how quickly the Squier Guru's (not me I'm still a noob) here can help folks out! That is some nice figuring on the neck.

Definitely! And so cool to be learning from the experts! I'm finding it all really interesting, certainly keeping me busy in lockdown!

    Thanks guys.

I presume it's a Euro spec SE as I'm in London, but would be good if an expert could confirm...

    Nice one!

Do you know what year this would have been from? I'm guessing early 2000s sometime....?

    Welcome to ST.

The Euro market also had a red SE. North America only had black, white, and burst. Enjoy.
