If you can still find a Chinese CV in the UK, then you'll be looking at nearly £400.00, with Affinity Strats about £195.00! The Indo CV's will be about £50.00 less.

    Thanks for chiming in!
You are right, I bought it from a dealer in the UK. I was just wondering why the esquire has not been presented during the summer NAMM? It would have made sense to me.

I just have to learn to be patient, I guess.. (November? Really?? C'mon Squier!)

I'm not sure why there are EU/UK models other than the EU/UK sales organization specifying FSRs that would sell there. Most of those FSRs would be big sellers in the US.

The Starcaster makes me want to put filtertron pickups in it. I wonder how it's going to sound? It's pretty cool anyway!
I like the CAR Affinity! Just wish there were a matching black or red stripe on the headstock ( like on the other ones) since I get the feeling that the headstock looks a bit thinner and neater with the stripe... might be just an impression, though. Maybe they look even nicer in real life.

That would be up to you. I have no plans to purchase the guitar.

I don't mind the headstock. I just wish they had included the starcaster bass in the mix. I would have sold both kidneys to get my hands on one if I needed to.

No Starcaster bass so far, but according to a local music paper, there will be a Jaguar and a Mustang bass.

Yeah, thanks @BlueSquirrel - the European 'override' filtering on the Fender Squier site (e.g. it gets changed automatically to Spain ES when I click on the Fender US link above) means that the Starcasters are not visible from here in Barcelona. So thanks @snivlem for the Sweetwater link!
I quite like the colour match strip on the Contemporary Starcaster headstock. Also the LPB strat - what a lovely colour that is.
Here's a link to the UK Andertons website for a look at that Esquire (other guitar retailers are also available).

    Cheers, rorygman

I’m really interested in the CAR starcaster, but I’d prefer the WRH in the CV. Also really like the surf pearl and ice blue metallic contemporary starcasters.

I think Starcasters are ugly guitars

LOVE the Lake Placid Blue 60s strat and the white blonde 50s strat. Both are hot.

I think they're a really good alternative to a Gibbo or Epi 335 style guitar and the headstock doesn't bother me.

I'm really digging the CV 70s HSS Strat with the walnut finish.

I don't currently have an HSS strat... It looks like it may be time to change that...

I wish I liked them more. I’ve been scouting used ES-335’s forever. It’d be cool to pay less than half, but wow that headstock is rough. Kinda puts the Epi headstock in a good place by comparison. I’d also prefer it weren’t offset.

Well anyways, not my cup of tea, but I bet they are great.

Two very short sound demos (made at Summer Namm) have appeared on Youtube. They sound pretty good.
