    Hi all,

My name is Eric, I'm from The Netherlands, pushing sixty and a musician since my mom house trained me.
(I still suck at it - oh well, not the housetrained part, that still goes well enough)
I Started out on the guitar but switched to e-bass before I could grow a moustache. Last couple of years my fingers couldn't handle the flatwound cables on my jazz and p-basses no more, so I tried to switch back to the guitar as my main. That seems to be okay with my old worn out finger joints for now. Being a Squier fan for the best part of this millennium, it was inevitable to end up here, so here's Johnny ;-),

    Cheers!

Hi and welcome to Squier-Talk. Age wise, you'll fit right in, although you are far away from the oldest. It's great you are playing still/again. You're going the opposite of me. As my fingers get less responsive, I find bass easier to finger than my six strings. Have loads of fun.

Thanks! Yep, Met a couple more old rockers who went the same way you did, git2bass, if it works either way, it's a good thing. Maybe my fingers took a blow when I switched from four string J to five string flats, especially the B-string was quite a workout, but when you finally realise that something is going on there chances are, your too late and permanent damage has been done. But I like handling the git again. Strung 'm up with 49-.11's -lighter strings didn't work either.
I really hope your fingers stay tough and swift like the wind forever ;-)

Welcome aboard! Find yourself a lightweight short scale bass to reduce the string tension, then fit some coated strings and maybe you can still be a bass-man!

Hello @Uncle_B, it's good to meet you. I can't quite see what's in the can you're holding. It looks like a can that cake icing comes in, but somehow I don't think that's what it is.
