Just a quick question. Anyone name your guitars? And if you do, what are some of the names?
I name them all (my signature lists 'em)
Nope. It's kinda ridic to me. The factory gives them names for me -then at that point I say "the red one, the blue one.."
I haven't yet. Until very recently, all my guitars were a different model, so I just referred to them in my head as "The Deluxe Strat", "The SE", "The SG Jr.", etc.
As of yesterday, I now have two Bullet Telecasters, so I'm going to have to figure something out there.
I do sometimes but not always..
just one or two
Seems on a few I have, and they seem to be the ones I've bought from women. I've used their names … Sarah, Mary and Tammy. A few others are boring … "all black" or simply the model used by the manufacturer.
I call this old Strat Silver..
Just a black SE, 'Blackie'. My creativity is boundless.
This is Bourbon..Because of the fantastic Rose Bourbon pickup in it..
Freedom..Because of the Rose Freedom T90s in it..
I named a couple, my wife doesn't like the names, "they sound like stripper names..." I have a honeyburst Epi LP named Miss Honey, and an Epi Wildkat named Miss Kitty ….nothing offensive, there
I'm just gonna start naming my strippers: Honeyburst, WildKat….
Sure the red, the white , the jaguar , the gretsch , the RG , the tele, the other tele,LOL
I go with the color to name them. Black Strat, Honey LP etc...
I’ve only come up with a name for one guitar-say hello to “Mudflap”
When I showed it to my dad, he said “That’s all decked out, like chrome mud flaps!” Which (I’m pretty sure) he meant like a car with a lot of shiny accessories.
I’ve tried to come up with names for other guitars but nothing’s really “stuck”.
I used to when I was younger and thought I’d hold onto them forever. Now after years of buying/selling/trading I’ve mostly given it up, with the exception of the fretless telebass in my avatar which I just call “thunder” cuz she will rattle your house apart.
I’m like Papa....sometimes.
Spanish, literally, the gilded one, with gilded meaning covered thinly with gold leaf or gold paint.
Shadowcaster: just because black on black
Fandango: the street name the CL seller lived on
I've owned several guitars but only named one, the Ibanez RG I had till last year. It was colored violet, so I called it "Violet." I ended up selling it and buying my Squier Bullet Strat. I haven't named that one, partially because I like just calling it "The Strat."
