I picked up a Peavey Patriot last year with the intention to flip it. After playing in it for a while, I finally put it up for sale (w/ a molded HSC) a month or so ago. About all I’ve gotten were trade offers, nothing that turned my head, but over the weekend a guy hit me up about trading his twin for it. I was thinking it must be the solid state Twin from a while back, but still decided to meet up. Yesterday he comes to my house, it’s a Twin Reverb ‘65 reissue! Even has the original footswitch :) . So we turn on the amp, he plugs in the Patriot and plays for a while, then I mess with the amp a little, we talk about the bands we play in a bit, and dude decides he’s happy with the trade. I accepted as quickly as I could! I’m still in shock! For a total investment on my part of $145 (paid $120 for the guitar, $25 for the case) I have an American made Fender Twin Reverb reissue! The only issue with it is that the reverb tube is an 12ax7 and needs to replaced with a 12at7, not exactly a pressing issue. Now, to move some of the other amps I have slowly stacking up along the walls hahaha. Might be time to say goodbye to the Lab Series L5.

I had one of these a few years back - one of those 'had to move it to afford something else but never should have gotten rid of it' amps.

The louder it gets, the better it sounds. The factory reverb is world class. You'll also find fewer amps that bring out the best in pedals.

If your back can hold out whenever you need to move it, it will serve you very well.

I had a deluxe reverb reissue that got sold to pay rent some years back that should never have been sold. I miss that thing!

Like he said hold onto it with your life. These are amazing amps and worth holding onto. You just can't beat the tone from this era of blackface!

Wow, it makes you wonder. But good for you for sure. And that amp is really nice, even at low volume, with the master volume knob. Heavy but good sounding. :)

Good things come to those who can wait and make the perfect trade. But holy crap, no wonder you are still in disbelief!
