New 2 Guitars and Amp Day.

I had a nice guitar safari today. I had Regents prep classes in the morning. Then ran to Columbia University to meet someone for the Fender Mustang 20 amp. Drove out to NJ for the NJ Warlock.

I'm really trynna relive my teenage years and heavy metal heyday.

Traffic on the way back was nightmarish. 2 and a half hours ... mostly bumper to bumper on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn.

Then, waiting for me at my parents' house was a nice Squier VM. I would call today a nice day.

There was also a great deal on an Agile 2100 in Brooklyn, but I didn't have enough loot on me at the time. Man, I should contact him and run back out there. ha ha. But I'm not sitting in 2 hours of traffic again.

Download the fuse software (fuse.fender.com) for that Mustang, it really opens it up and you can download a ton of great presets from the same site.

I wanted that Agile. Thought about it last night. It was actually by the Verazzano on my way back. I could have grabbed it. But I didn't bring enough money with me. Would have been nice.

But my racks are full again. ha ha.

I think the Fender Mustang will fit my needs for a small combo amp. The 129W head is just too big to really enjoy.

So far so good. I'm digging both guitars. But man, without a treble bleed, it really loses high end at low volumes. I need to crank these babies. :)

So far so good with the Mustang. I had to play around with it to figure out how it works. Found a nice clean tone. I'm sticking with it. ha ha. I'll play with the settings at another time.

The NJ Warlock is a beast. I'm not a fan of the Floyd Rose, but I'll make it work. Maybe deck it down.

I was hoping the NJ was an MIJ, but whatev's. It's an MIK. Still very good. It's got a very one dimensional tone ... heck, I wonder what that one dimension is ??? ha ha. I'm pretty sure I won't be playing any country, blues, or jazz fusion on the Warlock ... not that I can anyway. ha ha

I seen Twisted Sister in Germany in the 80s. I wasn't a huge fan of them but they put on a good show.

I agree with you about the treble bleed, it must make a big difference.

Is that a Mustang 1, 'cause I've never heard of a Mustang 20? I've had the Mustang 1 V2, the Mustang GT40, and now have the Mustang LT25 and the Katana Mini, as well as having owned the Boss Katana 50, the Blackstar ID Core 10 and 20, the Blackstar ID15 TVP, the Blackstar Fly 3, the Blackstar Lt Echo 15, the Fender Vibro Champ XD, the Fender Champion 20, and the Vox VX1 and VX2. They were all good sounding little amps, but, IMO, the LT25, and Katana Mini are the best sounding for low volume playing, and for a little more volume, the Katana 50 and Blackstar ID15 TVP.
