There is an old saying "a fool and his money are easily parted". My reply "not this time". I went for the $99 Epi SL and didn't score as the neck was too narrow for fat carpenter fingers, so it was adopted by Ray and is now living in TX. The $99 Indio is 1 11/16" and the profile is near identical to the Sawtooth, not a true tele profile but very comfortable, F spec 2 3/16". Rosewood fret board and "good" fret ends, you can just about feel them, could be the cold temps. A quick touch up with a piece of 4oo grit sandpaper and it's smooth, no filing necessary. Other than that, I can't find a bleeping thing wrong.
Satin neck, gloss paint on a full size basswood body, turners hold tune, pickups with decent tone (again ala Sawtooth), you may upgrade but you won't have to. String through, and under the hood the expected puny pots.
In summary and in my opinion:
Equal to an Affinity at half the price
Close to the Sawtooth but not as light weight
Has the good vibe of an Epi P90 Special, knowing you got your $'s worth
Squier Bullet's about as good as it gets, the Indio Classic is only about a step behind and again less $

Shipping was free and fast, comes in a padded gig bag and a single box which was not enough to go cross country without a nick in the paint, about the size of a pencil eraser, almost invisible, but you always know it's there. S DSCN1916.JPG DSCN1918.JPG DSCN1919.JPG DSCN1915.JPG

Very cool! I think they did a really nice job on the color which reminds me of a slightly lighter version of the Squier Custom II with P90s.
    Happy New Guitar Day!

Thanks. i wish somebody would buy one of those "blueburst" Strat clones so I can see what it looks like. Seems like a strange design to me, light blue on darker blue. I'm still looking for a blue guitar but I don't think this would work. But I could be wrong.

Would you recommend this for building a tele? Reasoning is build tele for my friend he wants that vintage yellow but as you may know it’s only the squier standard—among the affordable guitars—that’s available that color. The rest are expensive.
He’ll buy separate neck and the rest then I put it together for him.

Charles @chimneysweep , I would say the Indio is a solid base for mods, you would be hard pressed to find a better one. MP put some thought into this model and turned it out for $99 (shipping was free). Once it catches on, it will be out of stock like their original tube amps. I've played it a few hours and I think it's a pretty nice deal.

DSCN1927-001.JPG Dr, It's not an AllParts TRO-FAT but it is full
"C" profile w/ a 43mm nut width which is beefier that the Squier modern C.

Great ! Thanks. It's always my fear in buying unseen, to end up with a skinny shredder neck.
This Indio might be my first Tele then, when my bank account can raise it's positive numbers a bit.
