Stock without upgrades? The MIM Standard......

But, you're going to pay $300-400 usually for a used MIM, so I'd rather spend $100 on an SE and upgrade it .....

I've had all 3. Used MIM everytime... much nicer necks, but only if i get a great price. Then SE because of the specs to mod. I only like the older Standards with the 6 screw trem and 42mm nut.

Could it be something else with a MIM neck?

The neck alone is worth over $200.....

so it doesn't matter, but no I don't think it is

    The ad is here

    https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/msg/d/mckinney-fender-stratocaster-80s/7075510407.html

Seller says NEEDS A NEW NUT - it's cracked and a piece missing at the low E, that's why this is so cheap.....

If you don't know how to work on a guitar nut, this could be an $80-100 repair.....

Note it needs a new nut immediately, and that can be a bit pricy if you don't know how to do it yourself....

It's better to share the link, nobody will ever buy from under you, it would be dirty and we don't play that way - and it helps us see more of the seller's description and pics. Not giving us the link directly only makes it harder to help :)

I have no scruples. I would definitely buy it out from under you guys. ha ha.

If this were in NYC, I'd be at the guy's house already.

I don't understand what you mean? There's no joke - the low E string side of the nut is gone.
