John 5 J5 Telecaster

    Hi, does anyone have any hands on experience with the J5 Tele? Would you say the quality is on par with the CVs? Thanks

    Yep. Classic Vibe quality, for sure. I'm sure the signature adds to the price.

    yep, I had one,

    quality was really good
    sold the J5 cause it was too heavy for my taste

    I've owned one.

    @Paruwi is spot on - they're a pound or two heavier than a CV.

    Great playability, a very solid guitar. Once you see what John 5 was going for with the funkier controls, the sounds it makes are great.

    The pickups are more in line with harder rock sounds, IME. I replaced them with real deal Dimarzios and it sounded even better.

    Worth trying out for sure.

    same here . a Tele isn't supposed to be a heavy guitar imho
