... And I'm going to build another Tele!! :D ;) Something elegant! I may use the GFS Gold Foil P90s; I REALLY liked those.

It was from the Stratosphere, so it wasn't cheap; but hey!!........ It's tight-grained quartersawn: The KIND dude. Who cares about a couple of dollars one way or the other? This is a KILLER piece of wood!

P.S. It's a spec build; so it will be for sale when done.

Under $200 delivered. If it said "Fender", it would be $600. The tree doesn't care what continent the CNC machine is on.

I'm thinking about this body. Walnut cap over alder.

But I'm also looking at this (solid walnut).

Good call! Door #2 has a Tasmanian Devil behind it and he'll devour everything in his path.........

I like the German carve on the walnut one, but the match of the body halves is not great. I'd vote for number 1 too of these choices.

Well, I was about to pull the trigger on that body until I noticed this:

Not a huge deal, but this is going to be a top-quality build. I went to the seller's website and saw he had another one in curly maple/ash coming soon. I sent him a message and will hold off any purchase until I can determine if I can score the maple/ash body instead.

Here's an update: I contacted the seller and he's building a swamp ash/walnut body to fit the pickguard of my choice. I just ordered a black pearl pickguard from Warmoth. This will be elegant when done!

I'm going to do a Tru-Oil finish on the Ultimate Jazmaster neck and I'll have a bunch left over for this body. This may wind up being the Ultimate Telecaster.

    You there Squierbilly??

I've been following the "Kiwi the Neck" thread and I think I'll hold an Antipodean flightless bird whilst it uses it's beak to punch holes in the guitar's neck....... er... I mean Kiwi the neck. The CV necks are really pale and a bit more darkened in color will look much better against the walnut body.

Nice! My Thinline neck is quartersawn, and its my suspicion that it adds to the 'zing' of my guitar..but that pale maple! Its a few years old, so it has some yellowing, believe it or not. I'm tempted to do the Kiwi thing too, but I rather just live with it-- an orangey/amber neck on the brown mahogany body just doesn't work for me.

I ordered some parts for this today. Some GFS Gold Foils (Ferrite magnets, black covers), this cool bridge and matching control plate in brushed stainless steel. I'll use brass compensated saddles.

Good looking body there birddog. If you kiwi the neck 2 coats will get you the color of most fender necks. I did 2 now and have gorgeous honey colored tone to it.

Unfortunately the neck has a thick, shiny coat of polyurethane on it. Kiwi has no impact on it (I already tried :()

Good to know, I was nearly tempted to try it myself, but I hate to break down a great guitar just for some shoe polish :D

Nice looking build there, where did you find that bridge?
