    Happy Finished Project Day!

Finally got the Orange Strat project done. Strings on and setup done. This build was inspired by @Eddie and his love for the NC Squiers. He even helped me find this guitar locally. Big thanks to Eddie! Anyways, after I got it, I left the color choice up to the fine people here at Squier Talk and Orange was the color with the most votes. Turned out to be a great color. Now this build fought me the whole way. The paint didn’t cooperate, I messed up the wiring on the switch, the headstock decal ended up with air under it, and when I went to set it up, the tremolo kept sticking and wouldn’t float freely. In the end though, it turned out to be a great player with some flaws and a blocked tremolo! LOL. All in all, it was a fun build and I ended up with a great guitar that I am proud to say I built. And Eddie was right about these guitars, the neck it awesome!

For those who are interested, here is a slideshow of the build.

You guys and these gorgeous builds are killing me. I'm in a pawn shop loop where there is always an amp looking to be brought back to life. Ok - this weekend.

Excellent craftsmanship dbrian - I can see the pride in your work

Yeah, no burn marks on this one. I got the heat gun process down pat. This one had such a nice body on it as well. Almost wish I would have left this one natural. Next one I strip that looks that good will stay natural.

Flippin' amazing !!! You're my hero. I'm coming down for Thanksgiving with a turkey and a dozen NC's to borrow your workstation. :)

I love it. The final product is exactly what I wanted to do also. I even have the paint and heat gun ready. But no workstation.

Looks totally amazing. I have a Stickercaster CY98 and a black NC7 on the way. I'd really like to do something with the black one ... maybe I'll repaint without stripping.

The natural finish looked really good. The red pearl PG looked great with it.

Either way, you can't lose. Great work !!!

I'll send @dbrian66 an NC for free for him to keep if he turns it into Cowboys silver with a blue star, hangs it on his wall, and uses it as his avatar. :)

Really nice looking guitar. Well done it looks great!! And slideshow is great also
That paint job looks excellent, as others have said, you could start a refinishing business !!
I will take on most mods but paintwork is where I know I'm out of my depth so again kudos

Thanks for the compliment. But I’m not at a point where I feel comfortable charging people money for this. Still honing my skills and learning as I go. In the future, maybe. But not yet.

Never know until you try. The first one I ever did was terrible. But it was worth it, because I learned a lot. Watch a ton a videos, ask a bunch of questions, but a cheap guitar, and see what happens. Might surprise yourself!
