Guitar case tags.

Discussion in 'V.C.'s Parlor' started by Las Palmas Norte, Mar 15, 2019.

  1. What do you use to tag your guitar cases?
I have a good number of guitars with the same or similar cases and need to tag 'em with ID's.
Something durable I guess is the idea.

Thanks in advance … Cheers, Barrie. ;)

Oh boy..Been there..When I had nearly 50 guitars and many of them in cases or bags I used the cheap tags with the wires..But I still had to remember to put them back in the right case lol..

I use these types of tags on my gun rugs in the safe, there is enogh space for brand and model number so I don't have to open 20 rugs to find that one I am looking for

    Thank you @Kenneth Mountain !

I just order forty of those in black.

Your timing was perfect. Jan and I had just this past week decided I should label all my guitar cases as well as to make a photo record of the guitars themselves, with the serial numbers, model details and current current market value info.

    Yeah, thats why. ;)

  9. 20's what I need. I'll check out the local Staples store. If they have nothing, maybe on-line might be the next best option.
    Cheers, Barrie.

Thanks man! just ordered some. Been meaning to do this for ....... quite awhile.
The place I ordered claims about ten days delivery.

A little low on ratings but for 1.38 I will risk it :)

I haven't been able to find a source for stiff paper tags with wire ties. You'd think that would be readily available. I mainly need them for tagging the various pipes and valves in the basement.

I use "fancy" (green/blue) masking tape and a pen. I also never take my guitars out of the house.

I, too, was thinking about paper tags. Especially the ones with the elastic pre-tied strings that you just put the tag through the loop.

The one's Kenneth suggested are a bit more pricey, but at least for permanent use a bit better. And thy have the advantage of many yet more expensive types in that the attachment piece should be firm and big enough for the guitar case handle, and totally non-abrasive -- unlike the stainless steel braided cords some other permanent luggage-type tags use.

  17. I paid double that at Staples for 20 tags … They where in my hands within 10 minutes of driving over there.

Nice, I would do that and pay 4 times as much to have htem in hand but Staples closed up the store in my town.
I found some at the grocer but did my typical old man thing and said "I aint paying that" :)

I'm always tempted to make a custom stencil and paint the case--but I'm a chicken, so masking tape it is.
