Is this a good deal on Fender Strat Pick Up MIM?

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2643405072452700/

And does that look like it's 2 pictures of the same pick ups? In the first picture it looks like the pick up close to his pinky has two magnets on it. But the second picture doesn't show that pick up.

    Thanks
    Jim

They're not the same pickups. I suspect he took out the ones with the bar magnets (ceramic pickups) to sell, and put in the ones without them (alnico pickups). For $25 it's probably a reasonable deal if you need a set of cheap pickups. I think all the stuff that's on the pickguard is probably his new stuff.

Thanks Jim, that makes sense now that you put it that way.

You're welcome, JB. The thing that doesn't make sense is putting a photo of his new stuff in the sale ad.

Yeah, that didn't make sense to me either and that is what threw me. Because I was looking at those two pictures and I was thinking "those are not the same pick ups". So I thought I would come to the experts and see what you're all's thoughts were on it.

I'm no pickup expert! @Guitarmageddon probably knows exactly what the ceramic ones are and what they sound like.

I love those 2 bar magnet pickups. Some Squiers I have run across have those too.

My guess is that the first picture is what you're gonna get ... the MIM ceramics.

The second picture is the loaded pickguard that he swapped it out with.

$25 for the MIM ceramics is a good price. Those are very good pups. Stick them on an SSS RRG, and you have yourself a sweet sounding guitar.

True dat. I'd pay $25 for a set of MIM PUPS. Throw 'em in an SE and swap out the trem and you could essentially have a MIM Strat for less than $150 easy.

Those look like Squier two bar magnet pickups. Look at the import switch, pots, and the tapered screw heads for the pickup mounts. A mim would have round headed flat bottom screws. Don't know how much difference there would be in pickups.

They are MIM ceramic magnet pickups, the Squiers look slightly different......

The guy put MIM ceramic in his Strat first, and used a cheap import switch and mini pots to do the job......

Now he put in Tex Mex with other pots and switch....

Exactly what I think. I bought MIM strat pups for a project and paid $25, I think it's a reasonably good price.

Welp, we were suppose to meet up today but with blizzard conditions this was put on hold. Hopefully Thursday or Friday I can finally get these pick ups.
