El Cheapo Spectrum Strat. I think it's a maple body, know it's a maple neck. I've got some decent tuners laying around, alnico pickups, 250k pots, so may do a little project with my son so we can spend some time together. Seems like when kids grow up, he's 21 now and my youngest they go their own way and time spent together between son and dad is less. Didn't Harry Chapin write a song about that? That song always reminded me about me and my dad.

Thanks, already made the deal, can't go wrong with the price, 22 jumbo frets, so I'm guessing the neck may be worth the price alone. Also looks like that rosewood could use a cleaning and some lemon oil.

Sounds like a great project - I agree it's harder to spend time with both my kids now that they are in their 20's Congrats !

Nice score! Hey my son is 32. He lives right across the street from me and I only see him about every month or two. Or if he's hungry and wants to raid my refrigerator.

I got a local guy trying to sell one of these for $250.00!

What's not to like about that deal. I have been curious about those. How thick is the body?

Check the neck closely for adjust-ability before doing anything else.

If you're talking about "Cat's in the cradle", I've never been able to listen to that song without wanting to eat my gun.:( It's just too damned depressing. Great song, but so sad.
Don't worry, I'm not a suicidal person. Unless I listen to that song, or any of those depressing country songs that are in the same vein.
Even at that, I'd never kill myself. Tose songs just remind me how fast my life is flying by.
