As it's the season for campfires. Just wondering what some of your go to songs are? Whether it be sing-along tunes or just something you enjoy playing and or singing solo. My top two, for solo, are Jason Isbell's Cover me up. And Seven Mary Three's Hammer and a stone. For sing along, Every Rose has its thorns is always popular. I also get a kick out of playing Yellow Ledbetter and listening to the lyrics people come up with.

Best campfire jam was about 20 yrs. ago. Myself and 5 other guitarists (all strangers) in a campground on Memorial Day weekend. We played LaGrange for about 45 minutes. Good times.

Little Palaces by Elvis Costello, or maybe Someone Who Cares by The Only Ones …. unfortunately, a whole lot of folks I know have no idea about the music I like, so... no sing-alongs

    Genius.

(I've had to stop listening to Jake on headphones whilst using public transport. Outbursts of laughter seem to distress people when they don't know what you're listening to. My favourite Jake song is "The Castleford Ladies' Magic Circle" ).

I've Been Everywhere. You play through a verse and chorus and then let everybody have a pen and paper and ask them to write down the places they've visited or lived. Then you go around the campfire. Everyone sings the chorus in their best Johnny Cash voice before the next person is up. It's fun for all ages. I forgot my sister visited Eswatini (rhymes with my niece's bikini) but knew my father had been in Paul Volcker's powder room (rhymes with a hockey rink in Saskatoon). The effort to get stupid rhymes is the best part.

Wagon Wheel-Old Crow Medicine Show (not Darius Rucker) actually either is fine. I just dont care much for his version. A little overplayed by now but that dont stop us when sitting around a fire.
Broken Window Serenade- Whiskey Meyers. I know not everyone knows it but its always fun.
Nutshell- Alice in chains. These three always find a way into our acoustic jams.
