It came today. It was supposed to be yesterday but FedEx had a delay for some reason. No hard case...guess I should've taken the t-shirt :D

This one has a straight neck. Everything seems to be A-OK. I think I like it better too because it's a tad lighter than my first one. I like the finish a tad better too. I really missed that sound of the P90. Nice to have it back. Went without for 8 weeks.

Thanks for all your moral support and help guys. Hope you don't have to deal with Gibson like I did.

Glad it worked out. Stinks that it took so long, but glad this one is better overall for you.

I think someone once said "all's well that ends well." (Although I doubt he ever got a day-late delivery from FedEx or suffered a twisted neck.)

Just wanted to comment. They have made some changes to this model. One is HUGE HUGE! The first ones, like mine, had the input jack on the pickguard right behind the volume and tone knob. They have now drilled a hole in the correct spot on the body and put the input jack underneath like it's supposed to be. The tone knob is now where the input jack was and the volume knob is where it always was. HUGE improvement! They've also changed out the white plastic bean tuner knobs with very pretty cream ivory looking bean tuner knobs. I like them a ton better. They also changed where it used to say 'Junior' under Las Paul to 'model'. Now it says Les Paul 'model'...meh. It took a while to notice these things. It plays beautifully and that P90 is just so awesome!

I just looked at MF and they don't show these changes on their product photos.

Hi and thanks! I'll try to get a photo of the headstock today. No sound samples, I don't have the ability to record.

I know it was a miserable wait, but, all in all, I am very glad it happened. The replacement guitar I received is MUCH better quality than the one I returned. I'm WAY happier with this new and improved version. The tuners have been upgraded to Gibson Deluxe, the input jack location change is wonderful, it appears that they made the neck a tad thicker, the bridge seems to be upgraded and the D and G nut slots are cut more angled toward the tuners.

I ended up with serial #0049 of the improved model. Still upset about the wait time, but boy was it worth it!

Nobody wants a guitar with a twisted neck.
Nobody wants to wait 8 long weeks for a replacement. Nobody wants to wait an extra day for FedEx.
But sometimes the universe has different plans for us, and when you get a new and improved updated guitar, it would appear that it was all worth it? Hope so :)
