I figured the Teles deserved a thread too
Post your favorite Tele tones here.. Here's one of mine.
The intro to Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress....Hollies
That right there will defiantly put you in a different state of mind..
Thanks for sharing this.
Just to be different.
Just can't have this thread without our dear friend Bear R.I.P my friend.
Keith on Can't You Hear Me Knocking.
Then there's David Gilmour on Dogs.
Two very different tones, but they both do it for me.
@ElRey67 agreed. The first 2:43 of Can't You Hear Me Knocking is arguably the most bad ass sounding guitar tone ever recorded.
Jim (and Roy), Jimmy, Don, and Prince. Just a few.
I love Teles for how versatile they can be, but Jim Campilongo is someone who channels pure Tele tone IMO. This is an older Princeton Reverb vid that he did for Fender years ago (he’s all gray now) but still holds up. Tone for days.
EDIT: +1 on Campilongo @BorderRadio
Bit different but Julian Lage sounds pretty fantastic on his Tele, through a 57 Champ if memory serves!
Oh yeah....then there’s Roy. I can’t pick a favorite Tele tone, really
Hot Rod Lincoln , take your pick everyone's done it ...
Roy Buchanan was a monster
Funny thing about Keith Richards, we don’t really know when the Tele took over. He used a lot of Gibsons up to the Exile period.
Tele on tweed amps
James Burton while with Ricky Nelson, and with Dale Hawkins on Susie Q.
