2018 Player Series Strat I just got, it is in great shape, but the previous owner did this?

It should have a larger block, I believe, but why the larger hole? I can't figure it out....

I thought one of the features of the player strat was the big trem block. Looks like someone went crazy with a dremel.

Maybe he wanted easy access to block the block movement and unblock it without needing to remove the screws?

Did he change parts and return it with Squier parts?

As for the hole? Someone's not thinking right ...

The five springs pull the block really tight so that the holes on the block don't align to the holes or slot on the cover. So one either has to remove the cover or make the slot wider to change strings.

Everything else is original, but the block is slim-it's not a Squier block though.

I thought the same about the string change, but the hole just seemed too large. Probably the best answer....

A Players Strat would have a big block. That isn't rite at all. and the big hole in the back plate is just stupid.
What else did they swap out of the Player Strat? Pups tuners etc...

Believe it or not...I've prob got more guitars than you now lol.... I bought this one like I buy a lot of them...good deal, if I love it, I keep it, otherwise, move it on. I do really like the new alnico pickups, they are nice. There was just nothing about this one that grabbed me.

So you didn't know the block had been swapped out and there was more ventilation in the cover plate?
