I got this at a pawn shop today. Basicly I got it for parts and will deal with the broken neck later. I will have a full set of gold hardware for a project including Grovers, PuPs, Bridge, and Stop Bar.
Heck of a nice body, and I think I can save the neck for my own personal use....

I dealt in Norlin Era Gibson’s for awhile. If they didn’t have a neck break, I didn’t buy them. If they were repaired cleanly, I’d buy them.

Only good Gibson is a repaired Gibson :p

    Absolutely!
Congrats! I’d love to see you save that beautiful guitar and bring it back to life.

If I can successfully glue a Gibson neck, anybody should be able to!
    Nice Dot, though!

So what happened with the neck after it broke? Did somebody try to glue it back and just muff the job, or ?

I've fixed worse breaks than that. Those are very nice guitars.

It was in a pawn shop for $300. I told them they shouldn't sell it that way and offered them $100. They took the bait, I mean the deal...
The crack in the neck is just above the truss adjust hole and affects it in no way. it is able to be spread apart and some good glue put in, I will also drill some tiny holes and put steel rods, (small screws) , then grind them off flush with the wood and repaint.
The repaint job the PO had done was horrible. No sweat for this old bear though. It is an 06 model going by the EE06 ser #.

Yeah, I stripped all the gold hardware off including the pots and jack and switch. I can't wait to rewire that!
