What did I find last night ? Another Korean Vintage G400. The one with the winged TRC. A friend was looking for one, but he's away on vacation.

    Do I need a third one ? Maybe ...

    Negociating with seller for now.

    Well.
Seller is asking $325 and won't go below $300. Considering I got mines for $100 and $175 respectively, this is a bit high. But what if it is THE one that is better than THE ones I have ? Hmmm ... 3h return drive through traffic, not tempting. Or is it ... ?

Yeww ... I hate bursts, even more on a SG ! And I'm not looking for bling. Don't forget that 300 of my dollars is like 225 of yours.
I've had one almost like that, but better. The Custom model where knobs have the proper pattern. It was blingy and heavy, but the neck was fabulously fat. Couldn't learn to like the symmetrical horn lenghts even if I only paid $100 CAD for it. $179 US is off the top for that simili SG.

I am not "hunting for a brown SG type guitar", I'm looking at an uncommon G400 that was only produced for 2 years, probably because its attributes were too close to its Gibson cousin, except for the headstock.

I have one of those, @lespaul1968. Or, more accurately, my son does but I paid for it. LOL. It's freaking awesome.

I definitely did forget for a bit there. I'm still not a fan of G400s over 200 bucks (USD), but that's just me. I've paid used retail for plenty of guitars that were worth about 20 percent less just 2 months later.

Wait, are the horns on an SG usually symmetrical or NOT symmetrical?

I thought they were even but now I'm questioning my memory. My ex even had an SG laying around the house that I would play from time to time.

You don't seem to grasp what I've been trying to explain ... no big thing.

Not symmetrical. Look at a lefty SG it will hit you hard.

My understanding, which may be wrong, is that you have a bit of thing (preference) for these MIK, Bound Neck, No Scarf Joint "Vintage G-400" models, and you are contemplating (currently trying to negotiate for) the addition of a 3rd to your collection.

    Am I misreading the situation?
