Thx G. Is that on either of them? Not looking to drop a bundle or change the whole trem assembly. Do you know of an alternative block that would fit right in?

I honestly think it's a useless upgrade that doesn't improve tone anyway.....

I don't know of any block that matches the 2 point Squier trem.....

There is a guy on Strat-Talk, CeltRocka (Kevin) . He is in the UK, but makes replacement steel blocks for ANY Fender/Squier. Just let him know what model you have, he can make an upgrade block that will drop in

Yep, Kevin is the one to contact. I have about nine of Kevin's blocks in my Squiers and they fit perfectly. I live in the USA and it's worth the money to have them shipped from the UK. Kevin makes them in brass or steel - I can not tell the difference but I can tell the difference between the pot metal original and steel/brass.

  10. I loaded a brass GFS tremolo block on a two point (Hot Rails Stratocaster) no problem. The trem arm hole lined up perfect but I had to grind off about a 1/16" on one side of the brass block for clearance in the cavity.

  11. I just remembered I did the exact same GFS mod on my white SE. I also routed the string opening on the back plate for easier string changes.
No issues with alignment for the trem arm.

  13. I should clarify further regarding my SE block swap. The stock bridge plate did not line up correctly. I had a VM bridge plate that did line up and I also had some CV saddles. You can see in the photos the difference in the trem hole placement on the SE which didn't align, and the Vintage Modified that did. This bridge assembly was made from three sources … Classic Vibe, Vintage Modified and GFS.

I dont think CV or VM have fender stamped saddles but the MIM certainly does..

  15. Vintage Modified does have Fender stamped saddles, although they stamp them upside down and they are of an inferior metal. Some of these have been made with low specs and they're a smidge too wide. My current VM Stratocaster doesn't seem to have that issue. Despite that I installed a MIM bridge anyway.

Those saddles are light as air . Someone on here gave me a bunch of Squier Strat VM parts last year when they did an upgrade . I seen the bridge assembly an thought it was a good one. Then I realized the saddles were pot metal :0(
