That is sweet lookin.. congrats Ken.. Pass Go.. Collect 200. Dollars.. roll again!..
stock - I'm not bonding - I'm going to try a speaker change and see if we can get along !
Still for 40...wow great score indeed...you'll still make money on it....lots of people love 'em...also read this....http://www.squier-talk.com/threads/vibro-champ-xd-upgrades.38223/
That's a great score, especially considering that wasn't even the amp you were originally interested in.
$40 . Hah !
Gotta "like" that Ken
Ken! Great score! Totally agree with the philosophy, roll those dice, man - here is a nice clip to go with the sentiment - I love the jangling guitars in this track (seems the Tele is ruling the roost here!)
3 tele's - yeah baby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for the link ! ! It has a lot of potential ! !
If it was working I wouldn't have been able to afford it ? I'm pretty lucky / blessed !
I bought a Vibro Champ XD back when they were blowing them out because they were being discontinued five or six years ago. Actually, it is in my avatar. Really like it and use it daily. I use the line out for recording. I did have a tube go out a couple years after getting it and replaced both with JJ tubes. Found that they made it sound even better. Keep in mind I only play clean and at fairly low volume, so YMMV. My buddies, who have all been playing for about 60 years, all like it.
$50 was a great deal.
Cool score, HNAD!
Forgot to mention earlier, congrats on the deal. You deserve it.
Congrats on the score. Great Deal!
That's a great deal. After break in, I think that Celestion will sound much better than the stock speaker if you play that amp cranked.
On the other hand, I'm worried about you Ken. You think Buddy Rich stopped by to troubleshoot your amp. He's a drummer and he's DEAD.
lol So you don't want me to have him call you ? too freaky ?
speaker test - different amp
sweet score KenMo!
pales by comparison to your daily work ! ! I am humbled !
You may know this but I think @DrBeGood might be your resource for that change
Kenneth and CVSteve, don't mess around with a new speaker for your Champ. The combo cabinet will never have this great amp deliver its full potential. I don't like combos for that, they tend to sound frail, thin. Get an external cab, be it 1 or 2X10", or 1 or 2X12". Borrow one to test if you don't believe me. If you are the least handy and with a few tools, they're relatively easy to build.
Forget about the Super-Champ 112 Cab, it sounds bad. Its speaker flubbers if there's too much low frequency. You can surely find better. The Vibro Champ is small enough to carry with you to a store to test some cabs. Any guitar there will do to help you realize how an external cab is beneficial.
