My condolences. I know how it feels. Sorry to say I felt worse when I had to put my dog down, than when I lost my parents. It's just that he is your buddy by your side day in and day out. Put him down 20 years ago and still miss the guy.

I'm really sorry to hear it. I get more attached to my pets than people. It's devastating to lose one. My mom recently lost a cat she had for 21 years.

Oh my, I feel your pain. Stewart was such a hansome cat, reminds me of my lady cat Mum ,,, I know the head butts you speak of. Stay strong try to keep busy, keeps your mind off things. Be thankful he had a loving and safe home, so many animals are not so lucky.

...write a song for Stewart...

Farewell, dear Cat, we hardly knew ye.

My sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved, pet in the flesh, friend in the soul.

Cue Amazing Grace
(forgive me if that comes across as grossly inappropriate humour rather than comfort with a little humour to take the edge... humour is always good... to quote a great Comedian by the name of Charlie Chaplain:
"Laughter is a form of defiance. We must laugh in the face of the forces of nature or go insane."
"To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it!")

Oh man, I'm sorry for your loss. I know that's gotta be tough. I've had to put a pet down before and will be facing it once again before too many years as my oldest cat is getting on up there in years.

My sincerest condolences. We had to put one of dogs down about a year and a half ago. I say dog, but she was more like one of my kids. Just about the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life. It is still hard to look at a picture of her.
Sorry for your loss.

It's hard losing pets man. They get to be like a child after awhile.Seems like sometimes they are there for you when noone else is,and can put a smile on your face and make you laugh when you feel your worst.Sorry about your loss motoman45.

Great idea, I think you should consider a cat from the Humane Society in your area. Those shelters are high-risk and deserve a better chance than the 3x2 stainless box they dwell in the meantime. Remember they usually come home sick as all the cleaning supplies are shared. But the shelter should give ya meds. Makes such a difference and they're really some great cats. I like declawed cats but I won't be the mean guy so I adopt ones which are declawed already, then keep them safe inside. Anyways good luck to all who consider adoption of homeless animals. Stewart was a Brittish Shorthair mix by the way, if you wanted to know more about his breed you could look it up.
