OT: Florida panhandle

Guys and gals, I have been out of work for almost a year and have a solid lead and possible offer in the works in Florida, more specifically Fort Walton beach or Marianna. I have no real knowledge of the area, and was hoping to reach out to some forum members who may live there or have lived there to acquire some.


I need info on the normal things, nice areas, which areas to avoid etc...

Congrats on the job offer. I've only vacationed at Destin and the beaches there are beautiful, It's no small wonder they call it the Emerald Coast. Can't tell you much more, it definitely has a more southern flair than Central Florida though.

thanks edandis...I have lived in many places the past few years, a bit of stability is a welcome thing for me right now...especially with no winters in sight is a BIG plus!
