That's a nice guitar, I wish I had a maple neck for my black Affinity.
I notice the wiring is a little different from some strats as here the wires from the switch goes to the center terminals on the two tone pots and other diagrams show one of the pots wired from the switch to a terminal on the side, not the center. Does anyone know why this is? Just curious.

Highs don't drop out as you turn the volume down.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I used Edraw Mind Map (freeware) and Photoshop 7.0 to create the diagram.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, it is a nice guitar. I'm in the process of upgrading it with Fender Tex-Mex pickups, CTS pots and other hardware. This particular model (maple board) is manufactured by Super Music Co. Ltd. in Shanghai, China. They also produce a California Series rosewood board model, but only the maple board model is available in my town.

You could get a replacement neck from Warmoth or Allparts. Alternatively, someone might have access to import necks; we have them here (mostly from China).

From my experience, there is no apparent difference between using one shared cap or separate caps for each tone pot; provided both caps are identical in every aspect. In the case of this strat's stock wiring, both caps were .047µF [473], so both the neck and middle tone controls would theoretically cut off the same amount of highs when turned to 0. Now, if the pot values were different, it would be a whole new ball game. That's why my present wiring scheme has a .047µF cap on the bridge pup tone pot; while the the neck pup tone pot sports a .022µF cap.
One more thing, having caps on both pots can be a godsend if a cap suddenly dies on you. If one cap is shared, you'd be stuck with two dead tone controls. However, with two caps, at least you'd still have one useable tone control. Just my two cents' worth
