Default NGD! CV Thinline Tele, woot!

Wasn't shopping for a guitar, just went in for some parts. Eyeballed this one. Read about it but hadn't seen or tried one. Wow. It is PERFECT for me. The Tele jangle with warm bottom end, light in weight, and a wonderful slim neck. And looks great with the mahogany. It was made for me. I lassoed 'em and took him home.

If I'm going to get a HNGD pic, keep in mind I'm a girl and like to see cowboys with Teles! No cheesecake for me, thanks.

Still has the ol' tagger, as Nigel Tufnel would say.

If I wanted to see a scantily clad female with a Strat, I could do that any old day (in the mirror) :-)

I'm going to have visit NYC to see this cowboy! He has a very nice...strap.

The guitar is a dream to play. It's like coming home. And the sound is just perfect. It's very much a Tele sound but has a warm element to it. They've really stumbled onto a great combo with the maple neck, mahogany body and alnico v pickups. I'm not changing a thing on this.

don't blame you. I'm not much for changing things on a guitar either. that's why you buy the one that you get. because you liked it as it is. each guitar that I buy is because of it's uniqueness. I have yet to find a Tele that I like the sound of, though. that's why I'd like to try one like your's.

I finally got a chance to play one of these this afternoon. as a matter of fact, it looked just like the one you got. that was one sweet guitar. I'm very impressed. as you said, everything is just right on this guitar - the pickups, the neck, the sound and the playability. thoughts of getting one was racing through my mind. maybe it's a good thing that I didn't have my check book with me.

I had decided that my Vintage Modified Thinline Tele was the axe for me, with my Jagmaster and Duosonic as Best Man and Bridesmaid. I sold off other guitars I bought along the way. I was set. Then this fella shows up!

The two Squier thinlines could not be more different. The CV Thinline's scale is 25.5" where the VM Thinline is 24.75". The CV has a 9.5 " radius. The VM Thinline is 7.25". It weighs less than the VM because it is more hollowed out. The neck is glossy on the CV. It is matte on the VM. The CV has a maple neck. The VM has a rosewood neck. The CV has 3 saddles. The VM has 6. The CV is mahogany. The VM is alder (I think).

I like the light weight, jangle and slimness of the neck on the CV. I like the radius, scale length and matte finish of VM Thinline neck. But I'm adapting nicely to the 25.5" scale of the CV. It feels like a grown up Duosonic!

If I wasn't a Squier fan before I sure am now. I have four of them!

Is the CV neck-heavy? My VM Thinline sure is. I don't suppose your VM is at all with that hunk of metal you screwed to it. ;-)

I would say no. It sits nicely on your leg and doesn't strain on the strap when you're standing. The neck is very slim so maybe that shaved off some weight.

Some folks don't like a slim neck but I'm really finding it great.

About the only thing I don't care for is the Mother Of Toilet Seat pickguard, but that seems to be standard on these thinlines. The MiM thinline has it too. In future I might get one that is a little more subdued.

Sure is a nice looking guitar. I am partial to natural finish guitars dark and light. I like the contrast of the body and neck wood colors and that pick guard is my favorite color on a dark guitar. It sure would look good next to my ash Strat but my wife has this crazy idea that I have enough guitars already.

There were three at our local Sam Ash. An employee bought one and put a tortoise pickguard on it. Looks great...who woulda thunk it? Now there are two on the wall. One is a real ringer and the other is TRASH. Glad you got a good one. I'll have one as soon as I figure out how to sneak it in the house past the wife!!

Hmmm...I'll have to use photoshop to try out other pickguards to see what works. Tortoise sounds interesting.

Hey congrats (belated) nice guitar . I checked one out at my local L&M, had them take it out of the box, about 2 weeks ago. Anyway great out of the box , setup was right where I like em. May go back and pick it up this week . They put it back in the box and storage room when I was done with it.
The sales guy laughed and said he would keep it safe and sound for me, cause he knows I will be back. He knows me too well I think!

I'm still enthralled with this guitar. The only change I've made is the strings. I changed out the 9's for 9.5's. I tweaked the intonation a touch.

I played out with it through a Fender Deluxe the other day and that was sweet.

A gold aluminum may be nice as well.

This place is a bit pricey but. www.toneguard.com
