CV Tele Custom vs. CV Thinline?
I'm planning on buying one of these this coming week as my first guitar. I really do like both and neither one has an advantage of "looking better" than the other. I did a lot of searches across several forums, but never saw any comparison threads between these two guitars.
I know this might be a difficult question, but does either guitar tend to "fit" certain musical styles better than others? I'm asking this as I don't have a well-trained ear for guitars as of yet (I just know that I liked the way these two sounded the most). I like jangly, chiming tones, and some of the bands whose guitar tones I like are The Church, Slowdive, The Cure, The Chameleons (UK), The Smiths, The Ocean Blue, Cocteau Twins, The House of Love, The Police, early REM, earlier U2, Ride, The Stone Roses, and Kitchens of Distinction.
I know not all of those guitarists used Teles or used them exclusively, but since I can't afford more than one guitar at the moment, I'm looking for the best choice to cover as much of this ground as possible. Any insight or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You did good. That CV 50s Telecaster is very versatile. The Thinline is a semi hollow body guitar, has a different sound from the solid body Telecaster, and the Stratocaster has a different sound too. They are all very nice guitars.

The CV 50s is probably closest to the vintage sound if thas what you want.

Thanks, everyone. I'm also just learning to play, but I'm excited about it.
I know it sounds a little shallow, but I have to say after seeing it in person that I much prefer its "vintage blonde" (more like "banana pudding-yellow" to me) and black color scheme to the sunburst of the Custom. I'll try to post a pic a little later on.
Allroy, nice to see a fellow old waver.

There is quite a difference in the two. CV50s Pine Body, A3 pickups, maple board, no binidng. The CVCustom Alder body, A5 pickups, double bound body, rosewood board.

It's a beautiful guitar, I like the colors and the maple neck. Do you have an amplifier?

Thanks. It's a shame that you can't see the wood grain in the photo, but it's very subtle and just underneath the gloss.
As far as an amp, I have a Vox DA15 I received as part of a trade with a friend. Prior to that, I was going to go with a Pathfinder 15R, but this is fine for a starter amp.
