Default What's the difference, really?

Two questions:

1) I see there's an Affinity model of Tele that's available. What are the other types of tele's available, and what's the difference?

2) what' the difference between these two tele's:

Is that the only difference? Butterscotch finish is what makes it special?

What specs? Most of them say n/a. And I'm fairly certain there aren't 24 frets on my BSB. ha

The Standard has a full size (Thicker) body for one, also the standard is string through, where the affinity is a top loader. I am sure the necks are somewhat different, probably pups too. The standards have Alnico pups, which aren't too bad.

The Butterscotch is the best...

That's the difference.... it's prettier and therefore more desirable and also slightly more labour intensive in the factory; they have to make it "Special" and not cheat because you can see the wood this time.

Translucent finishes on Teles are wonderful as you get those awesome car coloured aesthetics which is wonderfully retro and Cadillac-esque; but you can also still see the lovely grain of the wood. So those ye olde style or in fact old Teles are the best because they got everything going... Butterscotches and Blondes... No other Tele I will try, no other Tele I would buy.

Damn... GASsing again for a Butterscotch Tele...

I have the bsb and it and every one I've played is phenomenal. I suspect the plain colored ones are similar but I've never played one because they are ....... plain I do not understand how fender charges the same price for agrain showing guitar as a random hunk of wood painted in a thick plastic coating
