I got a Squier Tele today!
Hi everbody, cool forum. This is my first visit here.
Today I went to my local pawn shop and found this used Squier tele. It's just an a Affinity tele but I think it is pretty sweet. I paid $74.57 is that a good price? it didn't come with a bag or case and they didn't have one for sale. I walked home holding it by the neck and the shop is about 3 miles from my house, lol. Oh well,I think it was worth it.
I also got this Park amp today for $10.It was made in 1993 but it looks new. I think it is a nice little rig for $85

congrats on the new Tele! That's a sharp-looking guitar. and you got it for a good price.
I have an Affinity Tele that I absolutely love. It's still 100% stock (except for the pickguard) because I see no reason to change a guitar that plays and sounds so nice.

Thanksman! What color is your tele? Do you have a photo? I'd love to see it.

That guitar and amp look pretty good. I suspect the guitar alone might be priced about $ 150 at the pawn shop in my area. That Park amp could be pretty good too. My Telecaster looks almost exactly like yours.
My Telecaster did not have a case so I bought a new hard case at the music store, $ 70. I can't decide if hard cases or gig bags are better. They are both nice, each has advantages and disadvantages. The store clerk offered to sell me a new gig bag for $ 40.

For $75 I think you got a great deal. And if I'm not mistaken, Park amps are/were made by Marshall, so I bet that's a cool little amp. And for $10, you should be arrested for stealing it!

Park is Marshall's equivalent entry-level brand like Squier is to Fender or Epiphone is to Gibson.

Yes,that is what it was, before Marshall started putting there own name on the "G" and later "MG" series of amps But that is a cool little amp,I like it because it has the 2 cascading gain controls so you can tweak it for some cool sounds.
I went back to the pawn and found a Roadrunner hardshell case for $40 so now I have cases for both of my guitars.

Everything works and it is mint.

Got something to add to all of these great scores.
1) The Squier tele is an earlier Affinity in that it has a rosewood board neck.
IMO these are superior to the later Affinities as they have full thickness body made from decent timber, thru body stringing and hotter pickups. I had a butterscotch one for a while, that I too got cheap over here in the UK, I turned it into an Esquire using the stock bridge pickup. It was a sweet guitar.
2) The MIM Strat is also a steal, and wine red is one of my favorite Fender clours. And I agree for some reason this colur seems to bring the price DOWN of these MIMs. I got a wine red MIM Tele recently for £150. I love it, and think its a great colour on a great guitar.
3) That JV strat is exactly like the Squier strat I had back in the mid 1980s. I bought it to see if I could finally get along with a strat, I couldnt (and still cant really) and sold it on. Wish I still had it, these things are worth far more than you or I paid for them. hang onto that the Squier JV series will keep their value if not go up.
