on a large scale, IMO the korean squiers were generally the lowest quality of the squier line every produced.
with that said, korea has made some of the best squiers too.
The top notch korea squiers, look for "pro tone" at the tip of the headstock these guitars had gold hardware and transulent paint.
there are some early korea guitars that are very good, look for a serial starting with the letter E, these guitars had fender tunners, bridges, and electronics.
look for the "vista series" at the top of the headstock, these guitar are nice guitars, this is the model right under the pro tones
it is when you get into the V, VN, S, C, and CN serial numbers, alot of these guitars had laminate hardwood bodies, copper bridges, plastic machine head tunners, and cheap electronics.
generally the C and CN serial guitars that were made at the cort factory show more craftsmanship and quality than the S and V serial guitars.
alot of people like those guitars, ZI will say they do have a great vibe to them. I personally can not get over the plastic tunners, laminate body, and copper bridge. so I would not buy another one from that era
check out the thread squier history for details and pictures
