A new CVC Tele in Shanghai
Hello everybody,
I have just registered to the forum. I am Italian and I live since long time in China.
Last week I bought a nice CVC tele in the showroom of the chinese fender distributor. Funny things is that even if these Squier are Crafted in China, are exported and then reimported, so I paid 350 Euro (almost like in Italy).
I had the opportunity to try it against many others tele (Mexico and US) and at the end the little Squier won in term of Price/Quality. I really like this guitar and I am going to add a 4-way switch and brass saddle, plus need a set-up with nut adjustment. I just want to thank all the other owners on this forum that helped me to make the choice!!!
Thanks

Welcome, that is a really nice Tele. I think the new Squiers are really good from the Bullets on up to the CV's. Right now I'm having problems deciding which to buy a Surf Green looking Bullet or a Daphne Blue Squier Deluxe

Welcome to the forum, Shanghaitele. I like Telecasters a lot, they have a nice sound for some kinds of music.
Can you tell us what bands are popular in China now?

Thanks to you all for the welome!!
Pesky:
here it is ok, after many year i feel more at home in China than in italy, even if this is a country where it is almost impossible to integrate completely, western people are always "foreigners"
YeahDoIT:
well 10 years ago was even difficult to find something playable, few guitars and all horrible. Now the situation is completely changed, Many shop sell everything, international and american brand, fender, gibson, ibanez, yamaha, and for acoustic from yamaha to taylor and martin. Chinese people are getting reacher and reacher so now they spend more also for music instruments, of course if they can afford they go on US brand and made guitars.
The cheap level of the market (below 100USD) is still dominated by low quality clones even no brands, but in the middle level there are some good local brands that are emerging such as Farida, Starsun, Clevan, AXL some of this companies are OEM manufacturer of foreign brands, like when Fender was making japan model with fujighen gakki in japan.
Squier here has limited consideration, in the local market are sold the squier california series (less then 90USD) that are made by AXL in his Shanghai factory, the other series are made in CHina but exported and then reimported so the final market price is higher than a common guitar made in China.
Have a nice day!!!!

Hi, Ciao,
I think the tele CV are made by one manufacturer, but still investigating which one. hard to say if also the strato cv, which serial number they have? be sure all the CGSXXXXXXX come from one factory.
About the lawsuit story, there are copies, that are more like counterfeit products, these are fake with fake logo. the other manufacturer they make "inspired by" copies but they always change the head design that is the most controversial point subject to trademark. Other local manufacturer they try to develop original products and are the one with more success on foreign market (check Farida, quite popular in UK)
Thanks everybody for the warm welcome!!! Squier are good guitar and i am in love with my CVC, i always play it recently.
Cheers!!!
