Squier Stratocaster SE
I found a brand new Squier strat SE at a music store that they separated from a guitar kit and it plays well and has a thicker body than the bullet. It's $119.95 and they have the new bullets as well, are these guitars better than the bullet? I'm thinking about buying it.

I think the SE is a great guitar, and worth the price tag you mentioned if its new. I've had my SE only a few weeks and I'm looking for another one (mine is the sunburst model and I'd like to have one in black or one in white to go with it). The body is the same size and thickness as the Standard (which is the same as a "regular" Strat). The neck is thicker than a Bullet or an Affinity, and it took some getting used to for me, but I fell for it instantly (even as I fought it for the first couple of days) because clean chords "boom" out of the amp--which I attribute to the thick neck and thick body combo.
In short, I'm a big fan of SEs.

I like mine, the standard size is very nice. Electronics could use an upgrade but are passable.

Blackmore fan the store I was at has the black one for that price also. What the guy did was take the full size strats out and and put the mini strats in for the package. He has about 6 or them there. If you're looking for the black one PM me and I'll send you all the contact info. Kevin

just got an SE myself. i love the way it plays. the pickups leave alot to be desired IMO, but that's hardly an issue for me...$15 from guitarfetish and u can get a set of hot ceramic single coils (not GFS, but sound better than stock to me). i'm more concerned w/ the feel of the neck and the weight of the body. that in mind, the SE is an EXCELLENT guitar.

Thanks for the offer. But I'm guessing the shipping would kill the deal.
Besides...I just bought an Affinity today! It'll be at least...a day or two...before I get the urge to consider another guitar! *laughs*

I haven't pulled the trigger yet but I'm looking at the sunburst one with the tortise shell pickguard. I'm saving my nickles and dimes for the Classic vibe 50s' strat in Olympic White.

I like my Se! My first electric, black. Heavily modded though, like maple fretboards better than rosewood! But oh well, Ses are great!

The messed up thing is is that I saw a used one for $199.00 used at a store in Carbondale, IL but the store 30mins away sells them new for $119.95. Looks like I'll have to do some driving when I end up getting one.

I agree I just got an MIJ strat and the SE I have plays just as good, except fro the trem and sustain which can be fixed with an upgrade.
