NGD Indonesian Bullet Hardtail
Was poking around on a used site looking for a cheap guitar for my daughter to play around with. Found a dark blue Indonesian Bullet, hardtail with a hard case, strap and a cable. No chips or marks on the body at all, just smooth and shiny - although it is covered in fingerprints now.
It is actually perfect for her since it is rather light weight. The neck on this guitar is actually surprisingly nice...
So far we just put some new strings on it and started strumming away. Judging by the serial number (SI050201077) I am guessing S=Samick and that it is an '05?
I am considering putting a white pearl pickguard on it (that's what she wants), but other than that leaving it stock. My only concern is that the pickguard seems to be a bit different shape than a standard 11 hole strat - but we shall see.
Anyways, she is thrilled - that's what counts.
Cheers.

Looks good. A guitar like that one is great for practice and jamming with friends. I like light weight guitars also.

My Bullet is exactly like that, with a pearl pickguard and GFS 64 graybottoms. I can tell you that I did have to drill new holes for the pickguard but no pickguard will fit exactly on any guitar, besides the new pg. will cover up the old holes.
I say go for it and get the pg. she likes, it might encourage her to play more.

Happy NGD! That is a sweet looking hardtail. I played one at SA and the neck was so easy on the fingers.

Hey thanks for the comments - we will be pulling the trigger on a white pearl pickguard today. Will post pics once the mod is done.
Cheers.

I got one off eBay a couple years back cheap, and just love the neck. Mine was a single-bucker model with just a volume knob when I got it. The light weight is a nice change from my boat anchors - OOPS, I mean Telecasters.

Well, it took a month to get around to doing the upgrades - ordered a loaded pickguard from GFS and my daugher and I did the install tonight.
One VERY happy 8 year old.....I think the guitar looks great. Good memories regardless of the cost - which was less than $90 all in.
Cheers.

Is it a strung through the body or from the back of the bridge?

Back of the bridge, the bodies are thin and ply. But like others were saying worth it for the neck alone. On a side note those plastics on this model will NOT stain with the coffee treatment. Save some trouble if one decided to go that way.
