Default My first mod + demo

Hi guys!
I did a first mode in my life It's on 6 y.o. Affinity Strat.
First I did shielding according to this article. I didn't follow it closely, just grabbed the main idea, anyways a lot of hum is gone
Then I installed new 1960's Repro Premium Alnico GFS pickups, GFS staggered tuners and also their medium strings. I just ordered and received these three items from them.
Since this is my first mod I am more than happy. I wouldn't say I amazed with these pups, but they are definitely much better than the stock ones. Plus I got them at discounted price.
The tuners are really great. No tuning stability problems anymore. I'm not a big fan of vibrato bar, but I tried and did floating setup for it. Worked great, stays in tune perfectly. But then I blocked it back, just don't want to mess with it.

So I guess I'm in the club now, LOL

I did a little demo through my ME-25 usb interface. Made a little loop first and then played some random notes over it. Don't be too harsh, I'm not a really good player.

Nice tone inliner. Yes, GFS pickups are not the greatest but at that price point, specially if they're on clearance are very hard to beat.

I like your demo... It is way better than my demo... Actually I don't have a demo, so that makes your double good. I would love to see the picture... You should be proud... You did your first big mod job. That is excellent. Keep on modding....

Your recording sounds good. I want to jam with you. I like the tone of your guitar.

Thanks for bringing the article (http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/shielding/shield3.php) to my attention.

I am interested in the use of 0.33uf, 400V metal film capacitor, described in the article, to reduce the danger of electrical shocks.

I remember experiencing electrical shocks from guitars and sound systems. They were minor shocks so far, but the really big shock could happen.

Thanks people! I'm glad you liked the sound. I like it too

I was doing the upgrade at 2am so I just forgot to make inside pictures. Here's only one:

This is regular aluminum foil.

Pictures after the mod:

Great job on that mod and that demo was fantastic. I am about to start a new thread for help on setting my puter up to record on. I would appreciate your input...
