Gradeschool Upgrade Questions
I have a Squier SE (3TSB) with a tortoise shell pickguard (everything is stock). I REALLY don't like the pickguard on it and have been wondering about upgrades to it.
I am thinking: - Mint green pickguard
- Mint trem cover
- Upgraded pickups
- Upgraded electronics
I found loaded pickguards from GFS, but they don't stock mint green trem covers. Guitar Fetish Loaded Mint Green Pickguards
I know that there has been many threads asking for general "what should I do" responses. I would like to get more of a "What have you done that you can point me to" response. This would be my first try at this.
Any suggestions?
Mine currently looks like this

Ive dont it all, if it was mine id leave the pc, looks awesome..to me...the 3 things that would go are the pups, many choices, the pots and switch, go 250k, and the bridge, gfs makes one that drops right in with the oversized block...150.00 max and youll love it

+1 to leaving the PG! But if you have to do the mint thing, here's a couple of links you can get a mint trem cover from.

But that sounds like a heck of a lot of changing stuff. Talk about deminishing returns. Well, it's your baby.

Pickguard is right for that guitar.First thing to change is the bridge, get the full size steel block..One thing at a time..Later you might want to upgrade the electronics..

i dont know how the mint green would look on the sunburst...i say leave the pg as well. if u gotta go w/ a loaded pg, i put a prewired one from gfs into one of mine. it wasn't the handwired gfs brand pups, it was the cheapo ceramics. i liked it myself. it was a decent upgrade from the stock...
other upgrades, of course the trem. for me if i were u i'd stop there. i never worry about the trem cover cuz no one sees it. i've been known to leave it off completely.

I agree with Papa Joe about leaving the pg as is. It looks good on that axe. I also agree that the best bang for your mod bucks is the full size drop in trem from GFS. Cheaper still is to just buy the full size block, but then again the whole trem doesn't cost but about 20 more
