NEW "surf green" Daphne Blue Bullets?
I thought this might interest some people. I love my first Daphne/Surf Green Bullet so much that I bought a second one. I happened to have them both out today and noticed something....
The one on the left is my new 2010 COS in Daphne Blue
The one on the right is my 2008 COB.
Apparently they change colors often?

but seriously, that is pretty weird that the colors are so different. mine is similar to your 2008.
i think it's hilarious that you liked your surf green Bullet so much you bought another. sometimes I feel like i'm the only Bullet freak on the planet. guess i'm not.

Ironically, the 2008 was awesome out of the box. It doesn't have strings on it because I took it all apart to mod it. I have vintage tuners, MIM trem w/GFS brass block, graphite nut, and Dragonfire loaded pickguard all going in.
The 2010 is horrible out of the box. I'm keeping the white hardware and single ply pickguard, but it's getting the tuners, trem, nut, as well as CS69's and new pots, etc.
I just dropped them both off at my luthier. She's going to be a busy girl.

Not cool.
I like both. Steve Winwood had a neat hunky blue when Traffic played in Pittsburgh. I like the army green Clapton plays often. Most Fender guitars look like a counter top at a Burger King. Real wood would be nice.

My 2008 looks like yours.
But actually both 2010 and 2008 are wrong for Daphne. Wish mine was real Daphne. Oh them sweet Beatles boys...

Will Kluson type tuners work on the 2010 COS?
Because I 'm planning on getting one and putting the Wilkinson Kluson type tunners on it.

pesky, you give your bullet so much props that that I really want to get one. I like all my squiers, some more then other, but they all have some thing going for them.
but, come one, new for $99 in some places, cant beat that. I have not ever owned a new guitar so that would be fun for me to be an original owner.
I really like the surf green color too, nice looking guitars, I like the one on the right.
do you think the color changed from ageing or just factory differances?

yeah, i like the Bullets. no doubt that at such a low price they're not going to be as polished and high quality as MIM and MIA Fenders. but you can get a stock one, give it a good set-up, and have a nice-playing and nice-sounding real Strat for around $100.
and what's so cool is the ability to mod as little or as much as you want. don't like the finish on the neck? re-finish it. give it a tint. want alnico pickups? change them. want better-grade electronics? change them. same with the tuners, nut, and tremolo.
i've bought 3 Bullets in the past year and half and have been more than happy with all of them. would i trade one for a MIM or MIA? in a heartbeat. but do i think the Bullets are quality guitars and a fantastic deal for the price? yes.
as for the color variation, that's just par for the Squier course. different factories in different countries buying paint from different vendors is the reason.

I wonder if all the "Daphne Blue" Bullets look like this new one. I'm kinda undecided as of yet, about getting one.

I've got an 08 Daphne too. There's not the slightest hint of blue in it. When I ask people what color they'd call it almost all reply 'mint green'. I've upgraded it with GFS vintage trem and block, gotoh tuners and a graphite nut. It's always sounded good so I've done nothing to the pickups or electrics.
About the only thing left that I would like to do to it is slap a 3 ply wbw PG on it.

The Bullets come in great colors.. My favs, Daphne blue/Surf Green and Fiesta Red. I think I am going to mod a couple of them. lol That must sound like major GAS, but they are dirt cheap to buy used. Not bad to buy new at around $100 each.

Actually, if I were offered the guitar above I am going to have to pass. I am going to get a Simon Neil Artist Series Squier from England in the next few weeks. You can't buy them here so I am getting it from there. It is a 62 Strat with rosewood and comes in Feista Red. It looks just like the Mark Knopfler Sinature Series Strat. So... that is going to be my next purchase.

Well... ...took a chance and ordered a Daphne Blue/Surf Green Bullet from GC, yesterday.
Hopefully, I'll have a NGD sometime next week.
Almost went with a Powder Blue SX Strat, but my son reminded me about their chunky necks.

I have a 2008 mine looks about the same color as yours does, I wonding if these just age really well, so in one year they are different color then when they came out?
anyways, looks sweet, did you change you pickups or covers on your bullet?
heres my bullet china 2008, all stock exept for the bridge,
you can get these pretty cheap on the used section of guitar center. sometimes as low as $45 bucks, + $15 shipping

Allroy, Eriksen,
Hi guys, I am definitely not going to say "oh, here we go again" or... oh wait, I just did say it. . Anyway, you might have seen the thread I started a few months back on Daphne Blue Bullet color revisited. I for one am just plain tired of having a git that can't make up its mind as to what color it should be. So, I'm seriously thinkin about sending the body off this fall to Guitar Paint Guys (they run an on-going special on Fleabay for any solid color paint job for $180 + shipping) and having mine shot in authentic Sonic Blue (my favorite color for a Strat). I attached their link below. It will take you to Ebay for their specials. They seem to have almost all the official Fender colors to choose from.
http://guitarpaintguys.com/gallery.html
I don't think my pal HDWriter4 (who has the sister guitar to mine) will be changing his. We bought them new in January as a package deal for $170 out the door from a mom & pop shop here in Harley town. Post holiday inventory clearance I guess (we weren't gonna argue).
Anyway, mods to HD's includes a white pearl pickguard and matching tuners from GFS and a shortened Trem arm (ala David Gilmour). Mine just has a Fender W/B/W pickguard. Both sport matching L-series neckplates with consecutive serial #s (circa 1964) from Axetreme Creations. Cool site. Heres the link
http://www.axetremecreations.com/pro...t__tele__bass/
Both Bullets will go under the knife (so-to-speak) this fall for vintage tinted nitro lacquer neck refinishing and some really cool decals. HD wants a Signature Strat by an artist who doesn't have a signature Strat. So my graphics guru (who should have probably worked for the CIA or something) managed to get this artist's "real" signature and put it on a waterslide decal for me. Sorry, not at liberty to divulge his name or location and will keep the artist's name under wraps until the project is finished. My Bullet won't be getting any fancy treatment like that, just vintage tuners, the neck refin and some new decals.
I posted some pics below that show the mods completed to date.
Later G
