No JV's are worth the investment, sounds like the pickguard was changed. What did it cost you? Have any pictures? ... check out www.21frets.com for JV details.

Allroy my good man, you surprise me sir?.....
Or did you mean "No, JV's are worth the investment"?

Vintage spec JV's are an investment (especially first issue export, and ST-115 domestic Strats), but definitely not in the same way as the original pre-CBS guitars.

I recently had the opportunity to compare an original '62 Strat with an 1982 JV '62 model, and in my opinion there was very little to choose between them (on face value I mean). Same body contours, weight, colour, sound etc.

The main difference was, the original was worth around 13 grand (UK), and the JV was worth around a 13th of the price (give or take a bit). JV's are still 'bargain basement' compared to an original.
Do as Allroy PA says, and check out the Squier JV Pages at '21frets'

Ooops my punctuation is horrible ... I meant "Have no reservation about it, JV's are worth the investment."
