Free and Broke.
Ok my wife and kids are splitting for pretty much the whole weekend. Which means ole Vott's gonna be free to play around, but no money = bored beyond the capacity for rational thought. So I'm gonna take these two guitars and see what I can frankenstein outta them.
Korean Bullet
Big head Affinity...
Dang, I dont have a pic of it. Anyways it's a medium blue Affinity with the big headstock and maple neck.
I think I'm gonna go for a 70's look. Will post a pick on monday.
Oh 1 Question for yall. Are stock affinity pups better than stock bullet pups?

my Affinity pups are better than my Bullet pups, but thats IMO. you'll have to decide for yourself. play them both and let your ears decide.

Thank you. Seems like I usually like the affinity tone more often than bullets.

Mixing a bullet and an affinity? What'll you call it?
You should call it a Buffinity!

I'd play guitars all weekend and enjoy the solitude while it lasts.

Ok as I said I'm broke so I didnt buy a single thing. I used the korean bullets body. mostly because its thick.. even a tad thicker that my c08 bullets. The Korean Bullets pickups sounded sorta muted or muffled in comparison to the Affinities but all the Affin ities sounded loud and high. So I used the affinity bridge pickup at bridge then put the korean bridge pup in middle and left the korean neck pup at the neck. It gave it a real big range from high and bright to low and dark. Was surprised with the tone range.
The pots and switches I already had they're CTS 250' X3 and a new 5 way switch and .022 orange drop cap. I took the white pickguard taped off the edges with that blue painters tape (that stuff is awesome) and shot the PG black.
The affinity had those saddles that look like the vintage bent saddles just a little thicker, so I used the Affinities Tremolo and saddles.
I used the Affinities neck for two reasons. 1.MAPLE and 2. my stubby fingers love the thin neck/nut. I'm going to paint the headstocks front black, leave the headstock hardware chrome and maybe paint the knobs white, but only if the white sticks well to a test tuner I've got painted and drying at the moment. followed by ordering a gold Squier
logo. That logo will be the only purchased part. Anyways here's the po' mans Frankenstrat.

Bring some water to a boil, soak the trem tip in it , take a rag round the tip with some pliers, pull it off. Cut the trem bar with a hack saw and put the tip back on, get that gilmour up to snuff ~! Just a thought
...sweeet~!
