Sounds like a Standard with the 22 frets and 2 point trem. I've never seen an Aztec gold in person, But on ebay I have. I think there's one there now.
Could be a special like someone said. There's so many different one's popping up that I never heard of. Well if it's an Affinity the body thickness will be smaller than a Standard. I know I seen the darn measurements somewhere. If I find them I'll post them.

i've just been looking and the affinity usually has 21 fret, 6 screw trem. it also has "squier" as the main logo. (not including "stratocaster.") and i just heard the affinity guitars are made in indonesia where as this is chinese? it has a large 60's headstock. i haven't seen the back of the neck for the skunk stripe. i think it will say standard on it. in the place of affinity, if it is so.
either way it has what i want but i wonder why on earth it would be agathis and alder on an affinity?

I had a 2000 Indonesian Affinity with the skunk stripe. But then later they were made in China like my daughter's Affinity and no skunk stripe. Well see if there was a Standard decal there once. I know I've seen this model or the same thing brought up before. Now to remember. lol Too bad you don't have a picture. I bet some where there's partscaster's that are driving people insane. lol

I knew these things would come in handy down the road. I have a copy of the Fender Frontline Catalogue from 2001. When you say gold sparkle what do you mean? There is a Shoreline Gold Standard with 22 frets. Apparently you could get all colors in both maple and rosewood boards.
The one they show has a white gaurd and rosewood neck. Big headstock and no mention of tonewood.
They refer to the bridge as a new "Twin Pivot Bridge" . It looks like a six screw to me in the pictures.
Hope this helps.

You know it is funny. I started in the Muscle Car hobby 40 years ago. I was one of those guys who keeps everything. I knew these cars would be collectable in the future so I kept every piece of info I could get. It proved to be worth thousands of dollars when authenticating a car.
When I got into the guitar hobby I realized that the guitar manufacturers were doing the same thing as the car companies. If the info is old get rid of it.
Not thinking that someone might be looking for info down the road. So I document everything I can, and anything with a catalogue or brochure I keep.
It does come in handy. LOL

You're absolutely right. I kept quite a bit through the years, Stuff from my old cars, etc. and when I was broke ebay helped me out. lol Especially with cars. I had the old ads for cars I cut out from old Rolling Stone magazines. The one's needed by some people were the one's with graphics. If I only knew to keep more of the old guitar stuff. I did sell an old 1977 thin Carvin magazine for ten dollars to someone who writes for a guitar magazine. I forget what I have though. lol I collect mostly because I liked the stuff. That;s fantastic you saved that stuff!!!

You missed the part where I said, the Forntline said they came in both maple and rosewood fret boards on all colors. That would mean it is a Standard in Shorline gold. A very appealing color.
