Doing a project Guitar with Squier pups/pots
Hey, gang.
I'm doing a project guitar with my Squier pups & pots. I had a 2000 Strat Standard, s/n IC 00072064. Swapped the loaded pickguard and the original loaded pickguard has not sold, so I decided to mod another guitar with it.
The pups are alnico V's. Does anyone know the actual specs on the pups and the pots?
Just planning on some major mods to a cheap axe I picked up.
Thanks for any info you care to share!

You should be able to read the back casing of the pots to read either 250k or 500K, the pups would have to be pulled off the switch to get a measure of OHMage ...

Cool.
I'll take a look soon as I'm released from the ol' h-e-double hockey sticks (AKA work).

They should be 500 pots. But then someone else could have changed them too.

Some have said the info at the Squier page has it's problems. So go at your own risk. lol

I think you might be able to measure the resistance of the PUPs by using a Multimeter on the PUP itself. If you look at the bottom of the bobbin where the wire from the Coil meets the wire that is insulated and used to solder. Take your reading from there... should be fine...

Now I've used a multimeter at work, I wonder what read outs on the multimeter would show what your looking for. Like where should the needle be at for low or high resistance. I know I can do it, I just have to know what's bad and good. Thanks Bill.
