hi there,
I have a bullet strat and play it over a epi valve junior.
A digitech rp80 for volume pedal and some simple effects and you are ready.
for playing at home the 5 watt from the epi are more than enough.
Turn it up till 10 or 11'0clock change the volume with vol. pot on your guitar for nice clean or some distortion and it sound great.in Europe those epiphones are around 150 american dollars,so that's not verry expensive.
Hope this wil help to make a choice, good luck

The Valve Jr is a great little practice amp. I have the head version that I use with a home-built 1x12 cabinet and its more than loud enough for playing around the house. The only downside to the V Jr is it is not very versatile tone wise (only a volume control), and this can be a problem with a Strat if you use the bridge pickup. Also with no master volume you can't get much distortion out of a V Jr until it is turned up pretty loud -- maybe too loud for any neighbors. To get around these issues some kind of overdrive/distortion pedal in front of it is a good idea. Even something as inexpensive as a Danelectro FAB D-1 Distortion or a Danelectro FAB D-2 Overdrive. Those both have gain and tone controls which will let you dial in the tone and distortion you want.

A Vox actv4 or VHT Special 6 would be my choice.Good little tube amps , more than enough for homeroom playing

I just bought a new Bullet, and got a Fender Frontman 25r amp to play it on.It's super loud. You can buy one brand new for $100.I got mine at a pawn shop For $75.It is still in excellent shape, and it aslo came with a footswitch.Usually you have to buy them seperate.

I think Vox is phasing out the ACTV8 and there are plenty of stores that are offering discounted prices on the remaining stock. It's a great value for a tube amp.
