Default NGD!!!

Well,
I am finally getting my CV60's today. Just waiting on the Fedex truck. Unfortunately I am at work so, I won't be able to play it until I get home But, I'll be able to check it out over my lunch hour! I'll post some pictures soon!

Thanks everyone!

Went home and the fedex truck showed up. Took it out of the box and...WOW! Fit and finish were awesome. I didn't get to thoroughly check it out because I had to get back to work. But I will tonight. I'll also see if I can get some pictures posted.

My wife asked if was I gonna sell my CP50's since I got this one (leaving me with just one). HAHAHAHA!!!

Well, she's got my seal of approval! I've already been under the hood and gave it the Jimmy Vaughn wiring mod (2nd tone pot wired to bridge pup).

Here she is:

I have the same axe you have.
What does that wiring mod do for you?

It moves the 2nd tone knob to the bridge pickup and leaves the middle pickup wide open. That way you can take some of the bite out of the bridge position. It is real easy to do if you are handy with a solder iron. You are moving one wire on the switch.

The guy I bought it from also threw in a Vox AC30 amplug. I messed with it a little last night and it's pretty cool. I checked the price of them and they are $40! I paid $200 shipped for the guitar and bag.

Thanks!! I'm really enjoying it.

I played it last night for about 1 1/2 hrs. It plays really nice and feels good in my hands. The neck is gonna take a little getting used to though since I'm used to playing my Classic Player 50's. The neck seems thin but not too bad. The tone is great! I think I will probably switch to 10's. The guy I bought it from put 9's on it. Is there a way to tighten the tuners? They seem sorta loose to me. Not sloppy loose but it just doesn't feel like there is the same amount of resistance compared to my CP. I had to tune it a few times when I was playing.

Man,
Those CVs look great. I've go the CV 50s tele but haven't yet played the Strats. My Duo Sonic should be in the mail today as well. I need to get my hands on one of these CV Strats. Again, Congrats on the new axe.

if i could go back in time a year, i would've just bought 3 CVs instead of the 2 Bullets and the Affinity and the MIM. don't get me wrong, i love my Bullets and all, but when you can get 3 CVs for the price of one MIA?

Try tightening the little screw on the ends of the tuning knobs. Don't torque them too tight or you can strip them. It should tighten the action a bit.

These CV's have the Kluson type tuners so there are no screws.

Then you may be stuck with how the action is now. May be no alternative other than changing the tuners.

I can live with them. They aren't too bad. I just thought maybe there was a quick solution other than replacing them.

Thanks for all of the compliments guys. I'm really enjoying the guitar. I was just playing it through my Pod XT Live and was really digging the tones that I was getting from it. The pups are really nice. I really like the quack you get from them. Also the neck pup is awesome. I tend to play mostly in the neck, neck/middle or middle/bridge spots.

I've been trying to learn Bold as Love. The John Mayer version. I know there are some Mayer haters out there but I ain't one of em. I think he's an awesome guitarist.
