I suggest buying the whole trem/bridge assembly, GFS part # D45 (with steel block).
That way you will be certain that the block will fit the bridge plate, and you will get a new trem arm that will fit the block (your old trem arm will not fit the GFS block). Also, the saddles in the D45 kit are an upgrade to the stock saddles.

Was this a direct drop in? Also, is the arm tip a close enough match to the pup covers and knobs that you don't have to replace that?

Yes, the unit was a direct drop in.
However, the 6 mounting screws that come with the GFS unit are a little thicker in diameter than the stock screws. I re-used the stock screws because I did not want to make wider holes in my wood.
The arm tip is white on the GFS arm. The stock CV 50s tip is aged white. So they are not an exact match. You might be able to fit a replacement tip on the GFS arm or buy any other 10/32 screw thread arm that has the color tip you want. GFS has their #D51 arm with a cream tip that will fit. I don't know if the cream tip is an exact match to the stock CV 50s color, but it will be closer than stark white. (I just took a look at the GFS website. It shows the D51 trem arm's availability as "Not for Sale" at the moment. I'm not sure if that is the same as "Out of Stock" or if that means something different.)
