New project 2005 Squier Strat Affinity
Well, you know how it goes. You search Craigslist, stop in the local pawn shop
and don't find anything for a mod basis. Then you come across something at Guitar Center. Found it on the web, went by Wednesday night, handled and inspected once, played twice and hung it back up and went home.
So I sat in the office all day Friday gassing. I called GC and asked them if they still had it. They did. I had them put it in the rack. Went by on the way home Friday night and picked it up.
In my opinion, the Affins are an over looked base. I think people stay way because they are thinner. I love the necks on the Affins, and the body is alder.
Now to figure out what the finished project will look like.
Best,
BC

Nice guitar. I love affinitys. I used one for my Strat project and the body is a nice lightweight alder that resonates very well.

Hey Bluecar. Got one just like it thats going to be my next project since mijstrat72 took my coral strat away from me. Just gotta come up with another flamboyant color choice. Might even reshape the head stock, we'll see.

1935sr,
What a hoot!! I plan on cutting the headstock down too.
Still debating on colors.
Thinking about doing a Clapton "Blackie".......maybe.

wwwagstaffe,
It is a replica by Mid-States in Hooper, NE. 428 PI, Tremec TKO,
Jaguar IRS, knock off wheels, 1965 Guardsman blue paint. Took
9 years to build, did everything myself. Now I just drive it and
build guitars instead of cars !! ha ha
psekypesky,
I have seen the woman driving video before, she had no
right to drive that car. They are rockets. So, are you kidding,
or do you really have an original Cobra ?? Small block
or big block and what is the CSX number ??
And I am really leaning towards the teal green.
Best,
BC

yeah right. i own a Cobra and buy Squier Strats. lol. well, no the truth is i don't own one. but maybe someday. i don't know if my father will leave me anything in his will, but if he leaves me a couple of his cars, i could buy several of the newer Cobras like this one:

Well Bluecar, replica or not, judging from what little of the car I can see in the pic it looks like you've done an awesome job! I love cars and I'm always playing with mine but would never be able to build one as much as I'd love to! Good work!

OMG! At first glance I thought you had that dang guitar leaning on that Cobra, then I noticed the stand.... whew.
1. Teal looks good, or paint it to match the car and tote it around in the
trunk, interesting thing to set in/next to it at a car show.
2. Ford motor?

Guys,
I did think about doing one in Guardsman Blue, but there are just too
many cool Fender colors. Plus it would barely fit in the trunk. ha ha
Yup. It is a Ford 428 Police Interceptor with a ton of mods.
