That would work nicely for me.Only thing I would like different would be flatter radius, vintage frets, and sunburst finish. But I could live with it as is..

I was looking at those GFS Offsets before I got my Jagmaster. I like to try an axe before I get it though. I tried the Jagmaster in a shop and bought it before the sweaty spot on the back dried up. ;-)

Hey, Telepicker, do You have any experiences with the Canadian on-line store "FretCityMusic"? They have some nice, inexpensive Jaguar/Jazzmaster knock-offs, seems to be great quality too.

au contraire, mon ami. when you can get a guitar like that brand-new for $209, it definitely deserves an "only". Now, if you talk about an MIA Strat, or a Les Paul, or a Gretsch, or other expensive guitars (over a grand), well yeah, the word "only" cannot be used.

I couldn't make up my mind on guitars so now I'm looking at an Agile and two Douglas guitars.
Cool thing though is with the price being what they are I think I can get all three, so hopefully soon I'm gonna have a huge NGD.
And out of the three I'm sure one of them will work well for my group and I can keep the Green Decepti'Dog as my backup.
But now I gotta add that seafoam jagmaster to my list, lol. *shakes fist at messageboard* DAMN YOU PESKY!!!! LMAO.

To Squirr (love your avatar):
I didn't know about Fret City Music. Thanks for the heads up....or maybe I should curse you for the heads up! :-) The cost and hassle of mail-ordering from the States kind of controlled my GAS, but a Canadian source with low cost, cool looking guitars? AAHHH! Maybe I'll experiment and get that cool blue Junglemaster...you know, just to check it out...as a service to my friends here, to report on it....yeah, that's a good excuse. After all, as someone once said, "It's ONLY $225".
Slippery slope....slippery slope. I do not need any more guitars! In the book "Your Money Or Your Life", he calls such things "Gazingus Pins". But I don't have a cool blue offset Gazingus Pin with P90's! :-)

dammit! so much GAS!!!
I feel like I'm a chronic holding it in... might explode... don't... light... any... matches...
GAS!!!!
Must buy! MineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMi neMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMine MineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMineMi ne!
ahem
I should like to purchase/create one eventually. My friend and I plan on making a budget Jazzmaster/Jagmaster that can just about mimic the Jazzmaster's versatility but cost less than a Jagmaster at RRP.

but that GFS sea foam green has a little problem....
It's missing a fret no point in owning a "Surf" guitar that has only 21 frets!!!!
I was playing with a Jagmaster lastnight.... waiting for the IRS to send me my check!!

Wow! Gazingus pins!! I'd never heard that term before but it's perfect. And it's totally what guitars have become for me in the past few months. Before, I had several guitars, but they were all different kinds of guitars, no two alike. Now, all of a sudden I have Squier strats coming out my ears!!

Well kinda....with out the #22 you can't play the Surf classic "Penetration" by the Pyramids...
But there are a lot of others that get down into 18,19 & 20 that GFS guitar would do the trick for just got to crank the reverb!!!!!

Thanks Telepicker, I got the avatar from here:
I love those little films
Yeah, the J&D guitars seem to be good value for the money (although if I remember correctly, I think they had a few more options last year, at least there were some different colours)
The FretCity people appear to be cool guys too. A canadian member on offsetguitars dot com, did a "test drive" of one of the J&D's and wrote a review here:
http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/...+danny#p294651
To BillStickers: Here's a guy who converted a Jagmaster, with a very good result, IMO. I've always thought there is a bit too much empty space behind the bridge on the Jagmaster, putting on a Jazzmaster trem is a nice solution to that!
http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/...ilit=jagmaster
cheers

I dig the Xaviere stuff . Looks like they're made out of some top notch stuff too . Not many Alder or ash body axes out there for 200 bucks and if they use their own electrics they're a steal . I threw in GFS Liverpools in my Tele Deluxe and it's just amazing . GFS stuff has my props . But I'm one of those that likes to play it before I buy it and NEVER seen any of these gems in any store .

Now that's smashing! I briefly thought about putting a Bigsby and Jag bridge on the Jagmaster in place of the Strat style bridge and trem, but thought it would be scandalous. Now...hmmmm...

Is the current Squier Jagmaster 24" scale ? If "yes" is it easier to fretting 7h-12th for power chords and double stops ? Reason I ask is that since the accident where both my wrists were shattered and both thumbs dislocated I've been having difficutly achieving the "stretch". Will the 24" scale make it easier ? Is the distance between the frets smaller/shorter ? Any info as what to expect will be appreciated.

Hi NJjoanjettfan,
Sorry to hear about your accident. Yes, the current Jagmaster is 24" scale. I'm a beginner, struggling with the "basics" at the moment. The first electric I bought, and began practising on, was a Jagmaster. I now recently got myself a Squier CV50's Strat as well, and I was surprised at how different they felt compared to each other. I find the Jagmaster much more comfortable to play, fret distance being shorter, a little less tension on the strings and the neck overall feeling a bit smaller. I definitely think You should give it a try.
cheers

You can always tune up a half step, if it doesn`t cause lack of lowest note in a certain melody.
I am going to purchase one of those Xaviere offsets with P90s, when GFS have more colors than black in stock again.

Just picked up one of these very cheap, mines a black one.
I have to say looking back at this thread, the black/pearl white PG combo does look nice.
I also think black/red torty would look cool too, but for me it would have to have chrome pickup covers too.
Heres mine
Mines got a black guard too, most of the few black ones I have seen have had white guards.

LOL Squirr
I don't like the Jacks in the Scratchplate... IT IS FRAGILE!
You'd have to get an L-Shaped Jack plug to feel even remotely safe.
I love that little video, Squirr
That Jagmaster conversion is too awesome....
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
I shall have to console myself... control the GAS... dammit all

Soounds like "Classical Gas"
[dude that joke is cheesy...]
