Those are so cool!! I could do one of each! GAS pains big time.

I must have a 5 string in my main gig. I really hope they do a VM 5 in any of these three. Please!! Squier P bass 5? Heckyeah.

I have always liked how the Jag and Jag-Stang body styles look like a Strat that is melting.

Those are some great looking axes!
So73 - you are making some sweet sounds with that Jag!!!
I will have to come see you play! I am only 90 minutes from Atlanta, so let me know your next gig.

Hey awesome thanks! I will let you know, but right now I don't have a live band together, so it will likely be a little while. If you want to pm me your email I can add you to the Sound of Seventy Three email list or you can check out www.soundofseventythree.com and add yourself there if you like. Don't worry I don't spam but just email when there is a major new release or something important going on like a gig. Anyway, thanks for checking out the vid!!!

Default ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ Got it! ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺

Picked my VM-Jaguar up from Murrietta GC on Thursday and after about ten coats of wax and opening the routes up to see inside - I've been playing it a lot. <♪ happy ♫ happy ♪ happy♫>

First impression: it weighs a lot less than any of the other basses I own except for my SR500 - which it equals at 8lbs.

It's about ½ inch longer than my Deluxe Jazz too.

The finish is exceptionally good and the feel is well-balanced with no head dive that I can notice.

The frets are very level and the neck was perfect out of the box.

The stacked pots are clean, well-loaded and smooth. The Tone pots are notched and that is kinda nice - but I wonder if it's necessary - it's OK for me though.

The fingerboard is so smooth and the wood grain is the tightest I've ever seen on ANY Fender/Squier.

Sound-wise:

The J p'up is awesome! It growls and can cut through like it's amp'd! This is a VERY HOT P'UP!!!

The P p'up is another great sound. It is more powerful than any other P p'ups I've ever heard and when I run it's volume to the max with tone all the way down, it gets so deep and powerful that I've got Motown wired!

So far - one of my favorite sounds is to run the P p'up to full LOW and the J p'up to HIGH tones and both to full volume. The effect bites and growls and just thumps all at the same time.

The stock Fender-type 7250 NPS strings generally suck and feel like hacksaw blades on end eating my fingers - but I'll play these a while yet to see if I can find any redeeming value to them at all - but if it's like my VM-Jazz, they will be off pretty soon for some Elixir NANOs or maybe some ROTO 77s. I dunnow yet.

Remember that Fender admits they are making their OWN strings in Mexico on their own machines - so maybe these aren't REAL as far as a different rumored maker is accused.

I also doubt these OE red-silked strings are NOS too.

Overall a total 5-♥♥♥♥♥ out of 5-♥♥♥♥♥ and this is one sweet guitar.

If you don't buy one - you will certainly miss out.

BTW: The individual GCs are having a hard time getting these in in any substantial numbers and I bought 100% of the Jags they had - that is ONE!

Put a downstroker on one at the store and they will hold one with a deposit if you go that way.

What mods will I make? NONE. This is just great in stock trim and if you put a Hi Mass bridge on it it will take a lot of the voice and growl out of it.

The p'ups are hot - hotter than you'll believe until you play it and they're full-timbered and full of tone.

The body resonates on all notes - UNPLUGGED and it's a very powerful resonator too. This bass has gobs of sustain and you'll get tired of hearing it and finally let go of the string after 30 seconds or more. Really!

Buy it - Play it - Love it.

I played one at my local GC last night. It felt Goooooood! I really, REALLY wanted ti get it, but it is just not in the cards right now.

I was suprised at the variances in tone available with the two pickups and vold/tone combinations. I also likes the tone knob setting, how it clicks into 5? seperate places.

man, it was sexy.

Whew!

I stopped into another local chain guitar shop on Friday, and saw they had a VM Jag bass. I could not resist trying it.

God... it was AWFUL!.

The bass buzzed from top to bottom like some sort of 1960's no name import. Examination showed no neck warp, so at this point, I put down that the bass needs a complete setup.

I understand that staff of a chain store might not have time to setup every guitar in tghe bass, but this is a new, featured instrument.

Bad form.

I like this new Bass I'm going to risk a possible but unlikely lawsuit...

I'M LOVIN' IT.

Stock with concentric pots 0.o my word!

I saw one in Wunjo's... very very nice. The fake Tortoiseshell looks better on it for some reason than other stuff... maybe it's just the one I saw, coincidence or more likely... it actually works against Black.
Either way it's a gorgeous piece of kit.
Congrats all who purchased! I will be burgle you soon ...*

*If someone astonishingly actually does get robbed, then it wasn't me and I'm sorry...

I dig that new P bass; I'll probably buy one of those as a little sister to my American Standard.

Anybody want to put some money of what Squier will put out next?

The VM-line isn't complete without a VM-Hot Rod!

This VM-Jaguar that I now own with the P/J setup - has me wanting more in that same configuration.

The Fender Hot Rod is well-discontinued a bunch of years ago and I think it's ripe for a revival under the Squier flag!
