Default Boomer is here! (NBD!)

My new Squier Affinity P-Bass arrived today. It was advertised as brand new and unplayed. Much to my surprise, according to the serial, it's a 2003 -- Made in Indonesia, IC serial -- and indeed, in absolutely new condition. Not a scratch on it. I am considering this to be NOS.

I have named it Boomer, both for the lovely low tones it produces and because it's a beautiful red and white, University of Oklahoma colors Boomer Sooner!) I grew up in Oklahoma and still have a soft spot in my heart for the Sooners.

Here's Boomer along with Barney, my purple Squier Affinity Strat:

It's always nice to find a pearl like that. New-bit-used is kinda hard to come by, and seven years old would not usually qualify as new.

Glad to see you got such a nice one.

I'm kinda odd maybe in that I like my instruments to be new and shiny. I dislike the idea of a Road Worn instrument that's artificially damaged to make it look like someone stored it in a burlap sack and tied it onto an oxcart to haul it from gig to gig. That's just me, and certainly the extra money it costs to get a worn-out new guitar doesn't make much sense to me.
