Default Just ordered D Allen pick ups!!!!!

hey everyone! I just ordered some 54/59 hot vintage pickups from Mr. Allen! I am going to put them in my Squier CV 50's Strat! Any body tried them yet?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

Are you looking to sell the original pups from your cv50?

I don't have that set of those Allens but I have some Rockin Blues some of the best P/U's out there hands down. I still can't believe the balance with them, along with tone (get back) then ya got D. Allens customer service, there is no down side. You will be vere happy im sure.

5 Thumbs,
I heard that set on you tube and they sounded very good. Mr. Allen has been very good at trying to help me. So even after going to NAMM, he found the time to answer my questions and help me get the right pickups. I am looking forward into putting them in my CV 50's strat.

I have the new P-51's. They sounded really muddy at first. turned out Mr. Allen was right when he told me 'not to close to the strings". backed them off a bit. Best Humbuckers I have ever tried. Hands Down!

I bought a set of the 88.00 ones when he offered them last year. Great pickups. I was really surprised he included new mounting springs as well as surgical tubing and a new .047 cap, for that price

Also for info he spaces his magnets differently than stock so they hit more under each string, so only his PU covers will work. I didn't know this when I ordered and had to contact him to send a different color, as I did not like his white against my PG, there was a slight color difference that I didn't care for. I just changed over to all black knobs and covers. Excellent customer service. really would like to try some of his buckers in my SG

ShrekFingers,
I appreciate the info on the pu covers. I would have been confused on why my old ones would have not have worked. I am going through withdraw waiting for them.

Got my pickups installed but something went wrong. I am working with Mr. Allen to troubleshoot the problem. So far, excellent customer service!
