Wow, they sound good and nice playing. Are they vintage wound or a little overwound. I might have to try a set

Wow pesky, fantastic as usual. What kind of deal did you get from D. Allen and what pups are those?
Hey, D. Allen can I get a commission if I just recommend them or do I have to be a guitar virtuoso like pesky? I'll try very hard to play a tough song like "Smoke on the water". Heh,heh.

Crap... I wish I could've taken up on D. Allen's "promotional offer"... but alas I'm in the wrong country for that kind of awesomeness... America... Land of the free and home of the American Dream...
What would you call England...?
Home of British Humour and an idiosyncratic nature that involves paradoxically being decrepit and vile whilst also being old and beautiful; as well as being America's shadow even after the Centuries past with many a citizen giving the Isles the finger. They'd accompany this with sign saying:
"Clean your act up along with the freakin' land, ya tea sippin' retards."
Not forgetting our long hidden historical realities from tourists and barely spoken of past evils... thank you Education System I loathe and have abandoned... barely... and far from unscathed.
Sorry, went off subject. Where am I?
(Not saying America is perfect but they have a better "Sales Pitch"... or should I say spurious sales pitch?

Isn't shipping expensive
Furthermore... I've run out of Guitars to put new pickups on...
...unless... unless I explore the idea of picking up some of your pickups, D.Allen, so I have the option to buy some for my VM Tele's Bridge position...
I'm going to check out the range again...
Awh crud... there aren't any shipping options outside of the US, aside from that I'm looking at Humbuckers and you haven't any... although the idea of sticking a regular Tele bridge in my CII and adding on of your Tele bridge PUPS does tickle me...
Just GAS though isn't it...

From what I understand about prices you pay, shipping from the states might not be a bad option, depending what it is of course and depending on what your tariffs are, usually it's tiered according to value of the item.

I just finished an HSS set with The Austin Blues and I have 4 humbuckers that I have not put up yet. More to come in the coming months. My shipping should have options for FedEx and UPS international. I will work on DHL soon. I have been swamped with package and website design and implemintation.

Got a set of D Allen pups for my Duo Sonic. He had a couple outside of a set laying around - 60s rnb in the neck - austin in the bridge. Haven't replaced them yet but when I do I'll let you guys know how it sounds. Probably would be best to review after I get my Lil Dawg Bassman in the mail mid september.

I will play them through my VOX AC4TV and then a Fender SCXD, I also may wait until this weekend for my newly acquired POD UX1 to serve this purpose.
I will post a clip or two when I can. I am in NY for the day and been busy but I assure you I am very anxious to get home and try 'em out!

UPDATE: I installed the D.Allen CS JM 60's RnB pups last night in the CV 60's...I made an on the fly read, not so good recording and will post a link. I really dig these pick ups. I think they get as close to that mid-cut sound without dropping major coinage.
The recording does NOT do them any justice, but I felt I needed to share as these pups have IMHO, transformed an otherwise good guitar into a great one! I couldnt put the damn thing down all day!! David has got it right here folks! Quality construction and superior tone for days! I cant wait to get me a another Strat to put those CS 54's in!
anyways, here is the clip...sorry for the quality...
http://chirb.it/ykOOAE
OH I used Reaper mic'd to my pc from my SCXD voiced as a Deluxe reverb...just some reverb added no pedals.

If I had to pick to strech to fit a wide variety I would say it would come down to Hot Vintage, VooDoo's or JM RnB's. It just depends on if you lean towards the 50's quack and chime or not. If you want that the first to can do that. Just my thoughts, but to get one set to try and do everything is a tall order and requiers good amp and pedals to go with it, That why its fun to by a used squier at a pawn shop or CL and mod it.

one of the great things about the Strat is that you get 5 pickup combinations, which gives you 5 different sounds. it is my belief that you can play any style of music with a strat by using the various pickup settings and pedals if necessary.
for country, use the bridge or bridge/middle setting. for hard rock, punk, and metal, used an overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedal and the bridge pickup.
for blues, the neck and neck/middle are my faves. for classic rock i like the middle pickup and the middle/bridge.
for jazz, the neck or neck/middle pickups.
the strat is nothing if not versatile.
and if you have a good set of pickups in the strat, you can play any style. believe me. any of D Allens pups will do the job.

Which one would give a more mellow long sustain tone?
I would think the JM 60s r&bs, am I right?
